Peak Flow
Hello, I hope this is not a silly question. I have slight facial palsy, the right hand side of my mouth drops slightly so I never seem able to take a full "puff" when taking my peak flow, which is normally between 450 and 500. If I hold up my right cheek to match the other side it goes up to between

Cold and asthma
After the second cold in as many weeks my asthma has been trigger again. With the first cold after 3 days I ended up taking a 5 day course of my rescue steroids. My peak flow had drop and I started to experience a tight chest. I used ventolin every 4 hours too Now I find myself in the same position

White Meat
I am trying to sort out the benefit (or, detriment) of white meat in regard to liver health. There are many advocates of a plant based diet who will say that all meats (red, white, fish) are detrimental in some form. I was told a few weeks ago that my treatment was successful and my heart is completely back to normal size

Albutrix made me feel more ill every day I took it. At 17 days I really felt like I was dying, so I quit it and improved after a couple of day. About 5 days later I tried it again at two tablets a day, two days in a row, and again became very ill. About a week after that I learned that while taking Albutrix

Noise in chest at night
Several rounds of antibiotics this summer. Had some small bleeds. Bleeds have stopped. Done with antibiotics. But I’ve been having noise in my chest. when I lay down at night. I Think it’s from all the mucous I have draining. Pulmonologist said my lungs sound good and ct scan looked good. I’ve had this

What do you think of my diet?
Hello everyone, My name is Michael and I am a food lover! In recent months I have changed my diet and eat pescetarian. I have made a small compilation of what to look for when eating. I can gladly explain these top issues even further. What do you think about it? Is there anything missing, or do you

"feeling fat over 40?"
Interesting article in Times 2 today (I only have hard copy; the soft copy is behind a paywall, sadly) with the above headline. US doctor Sara Gottfried is suggesting that for many of us women, the issue may be low testosterone. She argues that "traditional" dieting often doesn't work for women in the

Fasting cholesterol blood test
Does anyone know if the fasting cholesterol blood test a spot check on what you’ve eaten the night before? Just asking because I’m sticking to a very low fat diet but my results were not as good as expected. Unfortunately, my last meal before my test was not as low in fat as normal.

Newly diagnosed with Asthma
I caught COVID back in March 2020 and struggled with breathing for most of the 2020. I'm a cyclist used to riding 100+ miles per week and I was struggling to do 30m. I eventually got diagnosed with asthma due to COVID and prescribed FOSAIR 100/6 which really did work. My peak flow is 590 and with the

Peak flow after blue inhaler
Hi all, I was diagnosed with asthma during the first lockdown and I've queried the diagnosis since the blue inhaler never gave me much relief from my symptoms. I've never had an asthma attack as such but what prompted the diagnosis was the fact that I had an episode in which I was bent over my kitchen

Bisoprolol and low mood
I have only been taking 1.25mg bisoprolol for about 1 month but I have started feeling really low and a word I don't like saying is depressed. I have had bouts of depression on and off for years but this time it feels worse. Could it be a side affect of the tablet? Thanks for reading.
