Week 4 ..... Never thought it would be possible!
Have really enjoyed the last three weeks - from being 100% sedentary and having had a partial knee replacement last year, I decided its time to strenthen muscles in my legs to aid in recovery of my knee. Before the op, I could not even run three steps to get out the way of a bus! So I started with much

My right leg has just given up!!!!!!
I know that we all blog about different things happening to us Fibro wise......and I just wanted to ask a question really but it is too long and could be classed as a Blog :-) Does anyone have a long term problem with walking....well to be exact lifting a leg? Last May my left leg started going off

Me 0 - my body 10 and running away with top prize!!!
I don't post very often but read quite regularly and decided I would come on and take advantage and just vent.... So apologies but comments welcome! I am totally fed up - I feel like since the start of this year (and for quite some time) my body is determined to not work with me at all. I tried to

Uh oh.... W5 R2 done. R3 next!
Had a lovely run this morning on W5 R2. Sun was out, unlike W5 R1 on Sunday when I was battling against sleet. I was reluctant to leave Week 4 as I really liked it. Just as I was flagging on the last run on the podcast, the tempo changed in the music and inspired me to press on. W5 has been OK so

My story so far
Hi everyone. My name is littleladymai (It's not my real name :-p) , I'm 23 years old and this is my story so far... It all started about 5/6 years ago, I made numerous visits to my GP complaining of knee pain. I always felt that the Dr's didn't really believe me, I was sent away with painkillers

why do they insist on a knee replacement without trying to repair it first?
seeing an orthopaedic specialist in Jan about constant knee pain, i know exactly what he is going to say ,i need a replacement. i want to know ,as i have been told, why they no longer go in and repair it first ,i don't think i need a replacement as it is ok when i don't have a flare up, i have the fluid

Christmas was hard going!!
As most of you know,I was very ill the leadup to Christmas. My FM was raging and I have a serious bowell problem. Neither myself or my OH can drive at the moment so my daughter helped us get the shopping we needed. On Christmas day she came to us and picked up my 86 year old mother from the nursing

Ailsa's Christmas Blog
We are coming to the end of what has been I think the busiest year ever for NRAS and I think I speak for the whole team when I say we are looking forward to the Christmas break and being able to re-charge batteries, catch up on sleep and have a rest from emails for a while! I love Christmas, but what

I'm looking to find information about anyone who carries out radio frequency lesioning to the nerves in the knees.
I have had this treatment on my spine twice in the past 8 years with great effect and am looking to have the same treatment to my knees. I am only been offered total knee replacement from my current consultant which at the moment is unacceptable. Any information on this would be gratefully appreciated

The hardest yet most rewarding challenge ever!
Newcomers -- this has not been easy but if I can do it, anyone can! I am THE or!iginal couch potato As an academic I have had my fair share of graduations but I can assure you that this degree course has been the most challenging ever. I still can't believe that I can run for 30 minutes non-stop.
