Avastin
I was on Avastin for 18 months. On July 29 I had severe diahreah and could not control it at all. I thought I have a virus and so did my doctor. The next day I was rushed to the emergency room I was almost unconscious . I was imediately taken into surgery. My bowel was perforated and I nearly died. If

20 lb to loose
Hi, I have gained about 20 lb since I had a knee replacement op last October - due to inactivity, boredom and biscuits ! I'm borderline overweight at 5' 8" and 75 kg, but the extra doesn't do my joints any favours. It's time to get back to where I was before it gets harder. I' planning (hoping) to loose

Total Knee Replacement and RLS
On October 4th I had a left total knee replacement. I was in hospital for four days during this time the first two days were free of RLS and I got the best nights sleep I had had for years. During the third night my RLS returned and I had to plead with the staff to give me Pramipexole. I normally take

Trying for a baby
Hi, I was diagnosed with Lupus in 2006 when I was 15, at this time I was told that I also have Hughes Syndrome which mean my blood clots. Since being diagnosed I have had 2 full knee replacements which have been the best thing I've ever done. I have been very lucky and never experienced a flare up since

Surgery in PBC Sufferers
I need a knee replacement but have been told that having PBC increases the risks in surgery. Has anyone else been told this? If so how does it?

Excruciating constant pain
I'm a 67-years-old widow. Two and a half years ago I had bilateral knee replacement surgery. Following surgery I had drop foot in my left foot, which eased up to only affecting the large toe. During surgery a nerve in my left leg was nicked, resulting in numbness and partial paralysis. Also, a few

Waiting for knee surgery
I'm not sure if I'm posting this is the best place but here goes. I have been waiting for over 20 weeks for knee surgery with no prospect of when it will happen. I am in daily agony, off sick from work & a single parent. I have to have my surgery in a particular hospital due to my bmi and it appears

Advice desperately needed
My girl just turned 30 a week ago, she was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis when she was two. She hasn't worked for ten years due to being unable to walk far or sit in a chair she basically has to lay down all day. She has tried every pain medication possible and has just been taken off the last available

Risk of infection with knee replacement
For the past six months, at least, I have white blood cells in my urine. Three courses of antibiotics have not cleared it so my GP sent me to a urologist, when I told him I was on Cell Cept he said more tests were needed, I also told him I was due to have a total knee replacement in September his response

Pain management and Parkinson's
Hi all. I'm looking for some help in trying to reduce my pain meds mostly from knee replacement but also from over pain related to stiffness. I'm taking 30 mg of oxicotin 2x a day. But it make me feel horrible at the same time it relieves my pain.

Learning to swim the crawl
Hey - I have spastic diplegia. I swim five or six times a week (breaststroke). I didn't learn until I was 23 but now I really love swimming and it is part of my 'go away, premature ageing' plan, A physiotherapist has suggested I learn the crawl as well. I think this would be a good idea as if I do get

Can bad knee be fueling PMR?
Thank you to everyone eho sent reassuring posts re my impending knee surgery. Now I'm curious if the pain and inflammation of the corroded knee might be "fueling" my PMR?? Any thoughts?

Appointment with knee surgeon
My original post seems to have gone to lupus by mistake. Anyway here's another go... I've a long-awaited appointment tomorrow to discuss knee surgery. My partner, who means well, has asked whether I might have both done at the same time. I am horrified at this idea and wonder whether anyone has encountered
