I cannot get below 14st
Any ideas how I can get past this barrier. I need some inspiration on how I can do this. I have tried doing more exercise(walking). I find that difficult after a while because I am waiting for my knee replacement on 30th June. I would like to lose some more weight before then that will help recovery

Hi I was only diagnosed with lipodemia 2 years ago, well to be honest I saw a post on facebook , read everything I could , then found the NHS webpage and took it to my Dr. who researched further and agreed that yes I did indeed appear to have this condition. At first I was very pleased to know I had

Knee Replacement
I will abbreviate my story to the question; has anyone with Lymphedema in the leg had knee replacement surgery? I have experienced a few complications following surgery in March, including cellulitis which I was told was a secondary infection brought on by the lymphedema in my leg and the trauma of having

I lost a pound this week taking me to my lowest weight since I have been on NHS Diet 2nd time around . I now weigh 14 Stone. I seem to hit a wall once I get to this weight. It does not seem to matter if I increase my exercise. I am restricted in exercise due to having a knee replacement operation. I

My Story
Hello, I am new to this site but realise now that I might need the support and help of fellow sufferers of Lymphoedema. When I was 30 years old in 1982 I had testicular cancer and following an orchidectomy I was told the histology showed I had a seminoma and after 3 weeks of radiotherapy on my abdomen

Weight loss regimes?
I would like to hear from anyone who has successfully lost weight once euthyroid. I have been struggling, partly with increased appetite, for a while and need to get this whole thing under control. I think that to some extent it is indeed a matter of self control, and I do need some sort of 'regime'.

Total knee replacement
On May 5th I had my other knee replaced.. It is still quite swollen and sore. I have been having a sleeve of iced water wrapped round three times a day, an hour each time. I have had the clips removed and the scar looks fine. Am I being too impatient? Anyone else had this problem? I don't remember

Another newbie - osteoarthritis(OA)
I was a nurse/midwife and in the mid 80's had 2 lifting back injuries and was retired on health grounds at the age of 27!! Had every treatment available almost below surgery - even went for a trial for an external fixator but was deemed unsuitable in the end. Had some treatments that make doctors today

Arthritic at Home
Actually, it's really Artists at Home, the annual open studio in Hammersmith, Chiswick and Shepherds Bush. I've been doing it for 15 years and, thanks to the wonderful support of the weaver and jeweller who exhibit with me, I haven't had to miss out. I was first diagnosed just after the event in 2013

Knee replacement
Last Thursday I had my second knee replacement. I came out of hospital on Sunday. I now have a very bruised and swollen knee. My husband puts a sleeve of iced water around it 3 times a day to reduce the swelling. It seems to be going on alright. The only think is the last 2 days I have felt very

Post knee replacement (no 4 I think)
Knees are going ok now, but I'm being very badly held up by lack of RA treatment. My last rituximab was in September and I have to wait another 11 days for the next infusion. When the treatment is working, however inadequately, you do forget how debilitating the inflammation can be. Hands, shoulders,

My latest endo appt.
I had my latest apt with my endo on 31st March and have been too busy to post since then. I had bloods drawn the week before my appt and my T4 was 8.6 and T3 4.0. He asked how I was feeling and if there had been any improvement from my last appt. I told him I was still having the brain fog and still

Is AF Hereditary?
I was diagnosed with AF after routine knee surgery turned into a DVT and PE clots. On the weekend i was talking with my mother who also recently had issues with DVT clots as well. I discovered that she has also been dealing with an AF condition for the last 10 yrs. This got me wondering if its just coincidental

Pain Clinic and other assorted short horror stories!
I had an appointment this week with the 'Pain Management Consultant'. My first experience with him (as some of you may remember) was a disaster. I was awaiting a total knee replacement and wanted to try and cut down my various (& numerous) medications before the surgery. His advice was to 'just stop

2nd knee replacement Blog 3
I'm starting to take bleary stock of this second knee. It's not been as easy as no 1, partly because I had a lot more bruising. I saw my physio yesterday and (unlike last time) she's encouraging me to go slowly, to start building up walking distances with 15 there and back along our hallway. She explained
