Grinding knees
I am a 53 yr African-American woman who has been struggling with knee issues for over 10 years. At around 40 yrs old I was told by my physician that I would, in the future, need both right knee and left hip replacement. Through the years my knee issues have become worse. I have taken the cortisone

Knee replacement
Has anyone with PMR had a partial or total knee replacement? I had an arthroscopy (washout) of my knee in December, but looks like some form of replacement now necessary as no real sign of improved mobility. Following surgery I had to increase steroids as experienced quite a flare. Will probably

I was referred to Guys by Prof. Hunts team at st Thomas'. They will be done one at a time and the second one will only go ahead once the first has healed. I saw the Consultant last week who is quite happy to do the surgery and has made me fully aware of the risks. Tbh I was already aware of the risks

PMR versus arthritis
I have Osteo arthritis in my knees as well as PMR. Booked for knee replacement at the end of May. So I have to reduce prednisone to zero by then as it increases the risk of infection. Anyone been through something similar? Down to 2.5 mg and it’s getting tough! The muscles around my knees are so tight

My journey
Hi everyone, I've recently joined this group having found it when on another board for my Atrial Fibrillation. My story: In 1999 aged 17 I had a sports injury to my right knee, where I landed funny when running in a game of Cricket and fractured part of my knee which then broke off and locked my knee
