A knee replacement might be appropriate if you have an orthopaedic condition that requires it (Orthopaedic Consultant should advise). You would also need to get advice from your Neurologist and team amount coping with anaesthetic etc and hospital admission.

Why would a pD person not be able to have a knee? Not like a practicing alcoholic getting another liver is it now?????

Actually there is a problem with his right leg it is tilted towards right side slightly so some doctors suggested to go ahead with knee replacement while some told not to do it so i was concerned.

Of course any existing medical conditions are best evaluated by a physician familiar with your husband.

I'm not trying to sound off, but personally get upset when people try to blame everything down to a hangnail on their PD. It is what it its!

I had a knee replacement 2 1/2 years ago. Was tough going but I’m fine now, Told PD patients take longer to recover - me, 2 years and he was correct. Not having that searing pain on movement is heaven.

The general anaesthetic I think was epidural. Funny how I have forgotten it but I had a choice I recollect and went with his advice.

Best wishes
