CYSTATIN C
I would like to know if someone has tested Cystatin C. I have no health issues other than higher creatinine which was at 1.95 last time and Cystatin C was 1.63. I got blood test now and creatinine is 1.85 and Cystatin C 1.46. Thus I find that Cystatin c has dropped more than creatinine. Any ideas

Hello, I’m a 67 year old male on home hemodialysis NXStage since October 2019. My daughter is my partner she is a nurse and has worked in dialysis for years. Everything has gone well with treatments at home. The only problem we have is that every time we have a question about my treatment I’m being

Disimpaction
Hello, my 4 year old is witholding due to a very difficult poo 3 weeks ago which has left him terrified of going. We tried cosmocol but he refused to drink it so have been giving lactulose with little success. I have now got hold of some liquid macrogol 4000 (dulcosoft) but am unsure what dose to use

Swelling
I was diagnosed with acute cholecystitis recently. Is I normal for your stomach to swell with this condition?

Update on post: GFR down from 41 to 31 in 6 weeks.
Further to my last post I managed to get an NHS blood test done through my GP. Remember my previous creatinine 11 days earlier was 188 with a GFR of 31, so my creatinine with this test was 128 with GFR of 48, with all other factors being normal. From this I think the blood test done through the private

Diet
If I understand correctly phosphorus potassium protein and salt have to be cut down to reduce creatinine. Now surely point must be to reduce load on kidney. But if we reduce protein then BUN will go down. My dieticien has advised 45gm of protein. Is it less or more. If BUN is under control then why

Kidney function test
Like a great number of us on the site, I take a daily anti-coagulant. Next week I have a blood test for kidney and liver function and am curious to know more about how I might understand the results. Can anyone tell me how to read the figures that come back - what signifies healthy functioning or otherwise

Probably unrelated...stomach pains after running?
PV, JAK2+ After running a good distance - at least 4 or 5 miles, within an hour or so after finishing I develop serious lower stomach cramps. Probably dehydration and unrelated to the PV, but certainly this new to me. Anyone deal with this?

Struggling to complete my consolidation runs (low energy & stitches)
Hi guys, I’m currently on my second week of consolidation runs and I suddenly can’t do it anymore. Around week 8 I developed strong aches throughout legs. A minute into the runs, my legs will start aching especially my thighs. Almost so much that I would need to stop but I would push through. 5mins
