I am now on Tagrisso for my stage 4 Lung Cancer and the side effects are much better than Tarceva but the Dr. makes me take a Muga scan every three months to make sure the Tagrisso is not damaging my heart..
Does anyone else have to to these scans? Last time I did one I got really sick afterwards, stomach ache and diarrhea. Not sure if I didn't drink enough water or what?? I’m thinking its the radioactive contrast they put in my body. Between the CT scans and MRIs I have so much contrast in me and now radioactive contrast??

MUGA scan is used to determine the pumping action of heart ,the so called "ejection fraction" which can be affected by Tagresso, however an Echocardogram which is a noninvasive method and would not cause any side effects like stomach ache and diarrhea could also be used instead .
