Decreased urine output suddenly
I have never faced this problem but today I have noticed reduced urine output (around 500 ML) after drinking 3 litres of water. My last gfr one month before was 25. I have never seen swelling but today in feet, there is some swelling. I am very tensed. I don't know what happening?? Are kidneys failing

GFR down from 41 to 31 in 6 weeks.
For the last 12 months I have been trying to improve my GFR/creatinine by reducing protein and eating only plant protein, 12 months ago my GFR was 48 and up to this latest result it has been in the mid 40's range. Everything apart from creatinine has been bang in the middle of normal. I'm a 73 year

Triptorelin GnRH-a 2nd shot due
I’m due excision at end of August & surgeon started me on Triptorelin GnRH-a injection to reduce pain and shrink cysts & whatever else is going on inside. I feel my pain has significantly increased so wondering if I should really have the second shot, that is due in two weeks time? What are your thoughts

Men's blood contains greater concentrations of enzyme that helps COVID-19 infect cells.
Evidence from a large study of several thousand patients shows that men have higher concentrations of angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) in their blood than women. Since ACE2 enables the coronavirus to infect healthy cells, this may help to explain why men are more vulnerable to COVID-19 than women

CKD support
Hi my husband had tonsil cancer and as a result of the chemo and several episodes of dehydration now has CKD. He has never actually seen a kidney specialist and was told he has CKD in a letter after they reviewed his blood tests. Do you think he should see a specialist for the implications of this

Nike Run Club app behaving oddly
Yesterday's run was a figure of 8 based around my house, with a toilet break in the middle! Not sure if the break addled the app, but it got part way round the second loop and gave up mapping. By then I was tired and walking some of the way - heavy legs day - and it told me afterwards that I had a new

Blood filter may calm the cytokine storm of COVID-19.
Cytokine storms created by COVID-19 are causing major organ destruction and death, and for the first time in the United States, when patients begin to show signs of trouble, physicians are replacing the usual filter in a kidney dialysis machine with a filter known to trap these tiny proteins, with the

So sad
Continuing to take 2 steps forward one step back- think this is common for many of us. The GCA, osteoporosis, gastrointestinal problems and now extremely labile blood pressure, and heart rate dropping into low 40's is being evaluated. Thankfully my medical care has been superior. BUT, today we received
