Please help me breath. I'm desperate
Hi all, Sorry for the long post I really need some help and support as my GP isnt really moving as quickly as I need. I'd love the hive minds thoughts on this as i am DESPERATE. I've suffered on and on with indigestion my whole life. Around early 2020, I ended up on Lansoprazol 20mg per day. In March

confused and perturbed
Have been taking enteric coated Pred almost from the outset of PMR with 10 mg Omeprazole as I have hiatus hernia. I am now down to 1mg pred and am trying to reduce reliance on Omeprazole. I have had no problems with taking both. Having read previous posts I’m wondering how things worked. Not complaining

male hormones
Hi Ladies and Gents I wanted to ask if anyone knows where I can find a group/expert about male hormones? It’s for my husband, he has no thyroid issues, it’s about other hormones. He did a Randox test and it turns out he has elevated FSH, LH, Prolactin and Oestradiol. His Testosterone is ok, he is

Indigestion Medications
Hi All Can anyone recommend an effective indigestion tablet/liquid that is gluten free. I tried gaviscon advance recently which worked so well but then I reacted as if I’d eaten gluten, it is listed as gluten free so must have been another ingredient that I’m sensitive to, but don’t want to try it

Omeprazole use
I am a long term user of Omeprazole along with a lot of other meds including aspirin. I had diarrhea at first but it did settle down. In the 80s I had serious ulcer issues resulting in major surgery and had Omeprazole been around then that would not of happened. Acid reflux can cause idiopathic pulmonary

Alendronic Acid and Methotrexate
I've had PMR for about two years. All symptoms vanished completely as soon as I was put on Prednisolone (15mg per day), but I had a bad experience with trying to reduce, as advised by both GPs and my rheumatologist, by large cliff-edge steps--from 15mg to 12.5mg, then 10mg, all in a very few weeks.

Omeprazole alternative
Hi. I was given omeprazole instead of lameprazole as that was causing diarrhoea. Now ive found with omeprazole ive constantly got a dry mouth that no amount of fluids seems to be able to abate. Are there other meds other than omeprazole and lameprazole that protect rhe stomach against taking aspirin

Stomach disaster!
I have been having horrible reflux issues recently and I don't know what to do about them any more. It started on and off a few months ago and now it's every day. I don't get a stomach ache at all, just chest pain, a headache, a few palpitations, and a feeling that something is very wrong... The only

10yo daughters results…HELP!
Hello, I have posted before regarding my daughter who is 10yo but we have just had some very unusual and worrying results which may explain her health issues. She has a long term history of low platelets and I’ve been trying to solve this for her as it has been unexplained. We have strong family history

When is the best time to take T3
Hi I collected my first prescription for T3 Liothyronine 20 mg today. All the instructions on the box tell me is to take one tablet a day. I read the instructions inside and they just say to take exactly as instructed by doctor or pharmacist. So does it matter when the tablet is taken or if it is

Stomach problems and steroids - where next
I was diagnosed with polymyalgia in 2021. By summer 2023, I had reduced to 4.5mg. But the death of a close friend, for whom I am executor, resulted in a big flare. I consulted Rod Hughes privately in autumn 2023 and was advised to go to 15 mg and reduce in stages. I reached 9 but a flare caused by

Anyone had this?
A bit of background….. from a young child my teeth have always been easy to decay, chest type infections growing up, lots of sore throats, (back of my throat is a bit of a mess), although the painful throats improved by mid teens. Now it is mainly, heavy/tight chest and hoarse voice. Sometimes when

Night vomiting ?change to enteric coated pred if allowed ?timing
I have been on pred 6 yrs now. Finally managed to taper to 6 mg just over a week ago. (Taken me nearly a year to drop half a mg.) Previously I had problems with episodes of night vomiting which I thought were adrenal but wasn’t sure. This was nearly 2 years ago - I started Omeprazole and it didn’t

Well at least that’s one less thing to worry about.
I’m so pleased to learn that my recent dexa scan after seven years of prednisolone is normal and unchanged from three years ago. Not being a pill popper before diagnosis I have struggled to take the calcium and Vit D supplement and Alendronic Acid which were prescribed as routine by my GP. A dexa scan
