Carbimazole & Antithyroid arthritis
Hello, I’m a 33 year old woman, I was diagnosed with an overactive thyroid around 2months ago, was put on 15mg carbimazole a day. Started with a painful mouth ulcer so stopped medication & waited to see my consultant for advice as I didn’t know how bad the mouth ulcer had to be, he advised me to go back

Mental health
Hi all, This post is not arthritis related....however I am really struggling with my mental health lately, feeling constantly down and no motivation to do anything in my free time apart from go to work. I do suffer with Rheumatoid arthritis but it's manageable, just wondering if anyone else feels like

Arthritis: Does It Ever Settle?
Good morning all! Hope everyone is coping with the changeable weather. My Psoriatic Arthritis has, over the last 18months “settled” in my left shoulder and elbow. Picking things up/Holding onto things in my left hand has become increasingly painful. It continues to move around other joint groups

Tendon ruptures in hand due to long-term RA
I'm 67 and things have reached a chronic stage in my left, dominant hand due to several tendon ruptures affecting middle and ring fingers, which I can no longer extend. I'm now on the Orthopaedic surgeon's operating list, but I am very scared about how I will cope post-operatively, since I already have

PMR or arthritis
Hi all, I have arthritis in my hip awaiting hip replacement however I’m taking 6.5 of Pred. I have really bad pains/stiffness in that leg from top to bottom of my shin which the Dr has put me on gabapentin which so fat (3+ weeks) has not made any difference. Could this be a PMR flare or is it the nerve

How to pass the day
Eternities Day
Dawn whispers to your sleepy ears as nature awakens to herald daybreak. Quiet colours will bless your eyes, as suns soft rays do gently entice those leaden lids to rise and see the glory of my being. Stay with me awhile and see that glowing orb in haloed radiance

Update: Myofascial Pain Syndrome
I had posted (I believe to PMRPro) a few days ago about my symptoms with regard to trigger points or fascia issues in my back. My daughter went over my back gently yesterday. There is a muscle just below the ribs on the right side which is so spasmed it can be seen as swollen above my spine (I have pics

Hi Please may I ask how PIP gives you motalility for Fibromyalgia? Sorry if I sound silly asking this question as I only get standard rate for motability and I am struggling massively even getting in and out of the house at the moment. Vitamin supplements: good or bad?
For 45 years I have taken mega doses of vitamins and other health supplements every day without fail. These include 2000mg vitamin C and 400iu of vitamin E and fish oil capsules. These are supposed to enhance the auto immune system. As rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is caused by an over active immune system

RA now linked to oral bacterial health.
Apparently gum disease, bacteria can enter the bloodstream and or create 'citrullinated proteins', that go to joints and initiate an auto immune reaction. The body immune system sees these protein things, and attacks the joint tissue. I was wondering if PMR may also be an infection related causation

Request sedation for a cortisone injection
So today I got some more bad news. I had my hip replacements checked as my newest one has been causing me a lot of pain. On my CT it showed that I have arthritis in my sacroiliac joint. Yet again, another joint that is either dysplastic or has arthritis. Did I mention I had two hip replacements at 25
