Arthritis: Does It Ever Settle?

Good morning all!

Hope everyone is coping with the changeable weather.

My Psoriatic Arthritis has, over the last 18months “settled” in my left shoulder and elbow.

Picking things up/Holding onto things in my left hand has become increasingly painful.

It continues to move around other joint groups.

Given the time thats passed, does this mean its staying in my left shoulder-elbow?

Stay well and positive everyone

who knows. I’m like you jumps around. My ankle and planter was problematic for 4 years. Then found Achilles damage . Had a steroid injection and things settled there. In a flare as not on any treatment at the moment and ankle playing up. The gift that keeps on giving

The sad answer is probably not 😔 it picks and chooses where it wants to be but you never know, maybe yours will settle there although it might appear that way if you have damage. Nobody knows 😊 🤞🏻

I think it depends on whether there’s permanent changes in the loose areas. I have permanent damage to 5 of my fingers so even when the pain stops , they are not functional . The other fingers are sore if I have a flare but settle down again. I also get pain in my feet occasionally. It’s a complete mystery this illness 🤷🏼‍♀️

It has always moved around with me. Joints that were troublesome are now doing ok, whilst previously unaffected joints have become an issue. However it all started in my right foot, which never has settled.

Depends on his well your RA med is working too. Some meds have made it so I’ve zero inflammation re rheumatoid disease activity, but sadly I’ve got osteo damage over the 28 years I’ve had RA. So there’s usually something going on but if your RA meds work well for you the RA disease activity element should/could be minimal/controlled. I’ve had some excellent long years of no RA pain or problems. Hope you find that too. 🙏🏻💗 Mine isn’t psoriatic though.
