How to pass the day

Eternities Day

Dawn whispers to your sleepy ears as nature awakens to herald daybreak.

Quiet colours will bless your eyes, as suns soft rays do gently entice

those leaden lids to rise and see the glory of my being.

Stay with me awhile and see that glowing orb in haloed radiance

gradually lift the misty veil it first creates, brazenly exposing to the blind gaze

of those who wake asleep, that which you first saw in all its subtlety and innocence.

And now at this, the close of day, high cloud hazes the softly glowing golden orb.

Spears of cloud glide across its face, forming patchwork silhouettes as wind spreads

the downy sheath, seeming to merge and engulf that final glow.

Dusk, the silence and peace all have come to know.

As now the once fresh dawn sun sinks, tired from nurturing dew-fresh life.

Searching out the thinnest veils and patchy sky, illuminating from behind

in muted glory your mind’s eyes’ giants and lands unknown.

And as his rich warm colours finally go he leaves you cold and all alone.

Sleep well my new found friend. This day shall pass with all its joys and sorrows.

So, live in believing and treasuring all, for it may be that this be all

and tomorrow will come for another's love and joy.

Full marks! Packed with imagery and metaphor and many other literary devices to create scenes of calm and peacefulness broken only by the touch of dramatic irony towards the end. I really enjoyed enjoyed reading your poem 🤗.

That’s clear to see and a wonderful pastime. Beats my ‘Year 4’ attempts. 😂

I enjoyed yours and it's not a competition. We all have ways of getting through this condition. I hope this helps.

So beautifully written. Thank you. Gives us much to think about. Have you heard of King Lear Prizes? I can’t remember the current topic. I entered during first year of lockdown. Didn’t win anything but received great feedback. 🤗

no I haven't. I'm so glad it gives you all pleasure. I wouldn't call myself a writer I just enjoy expressing the way I feel. My real passion is being a designer maker. On hold till I can weild the tools again.

something to think about.

The Chaste

In days of old, when Knights were bold.

Virgins were plenty so I've been told.

The brave brigade would have their fill,

of draught induced medieval thrill.

For armour, you see, with draughts abounds,

as well as producing a wealth of sounds.

No matter when a Knight would lust.

Their acts restrained by widespread rust.

The reason's plain for all to see.

With armour on he couldn't; could he!!

Not to mention getting past the Chasity belt with rusted locks...😔

Really DL..... what do you mean?😉

On second thought, I agree with you. No WD40, no fun. Only a long wait until hubby's back from his Crusades.

As the wife of a serviceman in days of yore, I well remember his return from the crusades ( or “manoeuvres” in modern parlance).

Nuff said methinks!

no reveal DL?

Definitely not!

After all I am a Lady and a Viking Goddess… neither of whom reveal such secrets 😊

ok. but I'm working on a story i've been thinking about for some years. I've written tranches of it over time and it is coming together quite nicely finally. Couldn't see how to structure it but that seems over now. I'll keep stuff here not to upset our admin staff. Entertainment keeps our minds off the less pleasant stuff we are all trying to get through

waiting on blood test results and hoping to drop again. Just treading water for now and still have the bursitis issue. A bit depressing but the writing helps and watching the TOUR is lifting my spirits.

A bit to add. Apparently GP isn't happy with the result so I have to have another on 11th. Going to arrange a FtF with GPas it is a long time since last and things are not really improving. Will see my Rheumatologist on 24th when I have the zolendronate infusion.

Just had zoledronate but Rheumy couldn't make it. urine test and FtF with Dr. tomorrow. Bloods seem ok and inflammatory levels zero or near. Might pen a poem depending on mood after meet tomorrow.

learnt a bit more onhow this zoledronate works and hopeful that it will improve bone structure. Yet another drug swilling around my system.
