Tropical Monsoons and Stares
Sadly, I got off to rather a false start due to the fact it has rained non-stop for the last couple of weeks. Not light drizzle, but huge South China monsoon rain. I restarted C25K this morning in the park. I have NEVER felt so self conscious before as many of the thousands of Chinese people in the

Scoliosis and Osteopathy
Has anyone had success in being “straightened up” by osteopathy? The scoliosis was caused by my third spinal fusion three years ago. After two treatments, am certainly straighter but the pain is really awful. Is it normal to feel great for two days after treatment, and the dreadful pain kicking in for

W7R1 first five mins ?
Phew that was a hot one ! Not sure why but I am finding that in the first five minutes of my longer run I'm really struggling with my breathing, then it just seems to sort itself out. Can't believe that I am actually running for 25 mins non stop, 11 years ago I had a spinal fusion and never thought I'd

Tasigna (Nilotinib) as a treatment/cure for SCA?
Hi, I am wondering if anyone has tried Tasigna (Nilotinib - FDA-approved treatment for cancer of the white blood cells) as a treatment/cure for cerebellar ataxia. There has been a recent study by renowned researchers in South Korea: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/28601294 Some people in Korea

Joint Replacement Surgery in Fingers!
I’ve been told that I have chronic erosive osteoarthritis in 6 of my fingers and that I should consider surgery. I had hoped that I could have a joint replacement but the orthopaedic surgeon told me that patients have unrealistic expectations about what a joint replacement can do in fingers. Has anybody

Erosive Osteoarthritis treatments, surgery, and other treatment options?????
I have been diagnosed with erosive osteoarthritis in 6 out of 8 fingers and was wondering whether anyone has had any successful treatments that have helped. I have been advised to consider having the worst joints fused, as they don’t think I am suitable for joint replacement surgery, I’m an artist and

Gaucher Disease
Does anyone on here have Gaucher Disease? There seems to be a link between that, Parkinsons, and being an ashkenazi Jew. I'm trying to get more information about this. Thanks. Symptoms and timing of getting one then the other or simultaneous diagnosis.

Lost the plot
I’m at a quandary to what or where I’m going in other words I’m lost. I have had PMR for about 18 months or a bit more as it’s hard to determine the exact time it started. Here’s my story. It mainly affected my upper arms which became impossible to lift but with normal bloods I was given Pred by my GP
