Autoimmune thyroiditis with lump in throat as first symptom and normal thyroid levels - medication necessary?
I was diagnosed with autoimmune thyroiditis last month after a neck and thyroid ultrasound. I went to the doctor initially as have had a constant lump in my throat since June andbwas worried about throat cancer (I am 44 and haven't smoked since my early 20s but my dad had throat cancer). This hasn't

Could someone advise on my iron blood test please? I've been trying to raise my Ferritin levels since I had a reaction to starting carbimazole and was hospitalised with agranulocytosis 2 years ago. My levels before were 70 and on release from hospital were 19. I've lost tons of hair and lots of symptoms

decluttering....so much more than we need!
When ever I think about my own death, I think about the house full of stuff our 3 daughters will have to deal with. I suspect that most of our furniture is too old fashioned, you know, things that were meant to last forever! LOL But I'm having a hard time with my clothing! I lost alot of weight because

Experiment to switch from Metavive to levothyroxine
On 23rd September 2022 I started to gradually introduce levothyroxine and reduce Metavive until I was on only levo to see if I could manage on this alone. [see post Raising TSH from 11 months ago]. I had hoped to see if I converted T4 to T3 adequately but had to do it myself as my GP wouldn't help with

I wasn't going to post today but...
...I saw these gorgeous ponies on my run today. Hubby's been dead proud of my 60 minutes running last week, that he's been broadcasting my achievements more than me! He even scoped out a new 7k route for me too and this was the reward. Still finding it hard after giving blood a week ago, I just need

my ferritin has just come back as 28 (5-204) I think this is my iron store so itās clearly deficient. Iāve struggled with anaemia since I was about 18 (maybe before but no cause before then for a blood test it was discovered when I became a donor) No one has ever given me a reason for this! And I

She has given me the form to get my iron tested but did say it would be difficult to get anybody to agree to an iv iron transfusion but letās wait and see what my bloods come back as first. Just got my updated blood results
Hi all, I have had a partial thyroidectomy, this is my results. My ferretin is severely low and I wanted to ask does low iron <15 cause severe fatigue and tiredness and joint pain as that's what I've been feeling. Not sure if I should take thyroid medication as my iron dropped after the surgery. Please

Warning - long post! Iām not sure what Iām really asking here, or if Iām just looking for a sounding board. At my appointment last month my haematologist told me my ET had now changed to MF, after a bmb and NSG testing. He also said I had markers for high risk for leukaemia. I didnāt ask what the markers

Finally somebody that listens AND understands !!!
like so many other people I have been banging my head up against a brick wall and having to battle to get b12 injections, having to explain to numerous GPS and nurses that I donāt need a B12 test, and maybe they should not only consider the B12 symptoms, also the hypothyroidism and the iron deficiency

blue fingers when in hot bath??
Has anyone else had this? It happen to my toes when I was in the shower the other day too. I donāt know if itās Raynauds or my low ferritin/anemia or what. About to go for a colonoscopy this week for the anemia and a high positive FIT test but I canāt see it being linked to that.
