Infection
Unfortunately due to his age and condition he is not a candidate for
intensive
care
so anti-biotics are the only option that we have. Hopefully he will be able to fight the infection but we have been told that it is a sign of thingd to come as his PSP is advanced.

Soya chunks and LCHF
Are dishes made of soya chunks a safe source of protein for someone trying to follow an LCHF diet? If so, what is the best brand of soya (least processed etc.) available in the Indian market? How much of this a day is adequate? How many carbs do they have? Thanks.

My Dad
He's currently in
intensive
care
unable to breath unaided and has sepsis and pneumonia. The doctors have told me to come to see him. I'm heartbroken. Why does life have to be so cruel and why didn't the doctors make sure his last chest infection was cured.

Final update
My 2nd line treatment of carboplatin/Caelyx did not work. After 3 treatments the cancer has grown and has caused multiple bowel obstructions. I was offered weekly taxol and told this would have a 50% chance of bringing some relief but would be unlikely to resolve the bowel obstructions. I declined. I

The vagaries of PSP
Back in March V was sent home from the hospice and my daughter and I were told to prepare ourselves as they thought V would only survive ten days to a fortnight . Well here we are in late May , once again back in Topsham on the Exe estuary taking in the sea air and sitting in the sun

Please pray for my little sister Jenny
I did a post earlier called "Follow on from my sisters results" Well the devastating upshot was tonight, she had a major seizure and is now in
intensive
care
. The Consultant thinks it may have been caused by her thyroid condition, we won't know until all the new blood results have come back.

Newbie, need some support!
We were home for 2 weeks before an asthma attack put her back in
intensive
care
again. That was February this year and since then we have had 4 more hospital admissions with the longest being 3 weeks.

Brain Injury... And caring for mum
At first not expected to survive but after surgery and three months
intensive
care
made an amazing recovery! Her speech was pretty clear, she had physiotherapy and was walking fairly well and was able to return home independently.

My first post: advice ahead of repeat tests
Hi there, I've been reading and trying to absorb the excellent information here - mostly struggling on that due to brain fog and memory issues! Also, before I forget (due to said memory issues), I am so impressed by the knowledge, time and patience of those replying to newbie posts. I'm not sure yet
