Gleason 9 (5+4) 10+ years ago - widely metastatic cancer and running out of options!
My husband was diagnosed in 2007 at age 57, Gleason 9 (5+4), PSA 18. [PSA at age 50 was 10 - a 3 core biopsy showed nothing so he was told he simply had a high baseline PSA]. He started ADT in late 2007 and had iodine brachytherapy in 2008. PSA rose rapidly after surgery. Combidex scan in Holland

NiCCC BIBF1120 trial
Hello Ladies, Does anyone have experience of the above trial? Two weeks ago I went for my end of chemo CT scan and follow up. I wasn't expecting the news I received, despite optimal debulking a tumour has regrown in my small bowel and the lesions in my liver which I was told were benign are solid tumours

Palliative care - transition
I usually think of transition from primary to secondary school but I'm finding the transition to palliative care hard as it's tough to leave the oncology team and get to know a new crowd. I'm wondering if there's a way it could be made easier. I'd visited the hospice before (helped with their LGBTI

IT IS --Yes it is Insulin...

Life spent between Doctors
I had
Intensive
care
nurses monitoring me due to the severity of it. They said that my body had reacted to pnemonia like someone in there 80's rather than a 21 year old who should be fighting it. They also picked up on granulomas I have on both my lungs.

Engagement Is Survival: My Take on ASCO 2017
Here's an insightful article from Dr. Don Dizon, who hosted our first ever AMA a couple days ago, on the important role that doctors can play in their patient's treatment. "The American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting wrapped up early in June, and what a meeting it was. In addition
