muscle weakness). Anyway, it took me another week in ICU and two more weeks in hospital until I was discharged. Everything has been going really well and I regained mobility, although my legs aren't still what they used to be.

Do You Know the Ins and Outs about Palliative Care?
A friend of mine wrote a blog post about Palliative Care that really tells you what it is (and isn't). One sentence in the blog clears up one misconception lots of people seem to have: Hospice is always palliative care, but palliative care is not always hospice. That's a very huge distinction!! https

How to reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation? Reduce use of smart devices!
When the book written by palliative care nurse Bronnie Ware came about, she titled it Regrets of the Dying. This is powerful stuff. How much are you truly living your life? One of the top regrets was neglecting friendships. One of the key drivers I see of isolation is the wide use of mobile phones and

'Listeria' Bacterial Meningitis, healthy Mum in coma for 7 days now, any advice much appreciated!
The next 24hrs she was shaking and getting worse, they transferred her to
Intensive
care
where she was sedated, they did a spinal tap which confirmed 'Listeria' bacterial meningitis. (We have NO idea where she could've got this from, she had a very plain diet and hadn't eaten out).

Be Encouraged
I’m writing to encourage anyone losing hope. As I write this, my dad has been hospitalized for 25 days, but he’s on the road to recovery from Legionnaire’s disease (legionella pneumonia). He had most of the pneumonia fatality factors - compromised immune system, over 50 yrs old, diabetic, transplant

TUMOUR HCC (cancer) No transplant. No treatment. I can’t accept this.
Hi everyone. Sorry I’m kind of posting about the same thing but I really need some help/advice. Mum had her follow-up cat scan yesterday and her tumour has grown to 7 cm and there are possibly one or two more. Her doctor is adamant she is not eligible for transplant. Her doctor doesn’t want to do any

I feel like my world is falling apart around me and i cant stop it. My Mam died from Breast cancer that had spread to her liver. I don't think i can watch this again

Cardiac arrest
She is now in
intensive
care
after the catheter lab did their job and put in a balloon stent. She was totally sedated being breather for and blood pressure being controlled. They tried to take her off sedation to see how she would react in terms of brain damage.

Completed Salvage Treatment
Now we wait and see. Last shot of Firmagon went in on Monday (total of 7 treatments) along with 40 IMRT sessions to the prostate bed. Hoping for a lengthy remission, but only time will tell. Overall the side effects were OK, dealing with some proctitis that kicked in at week 7 and is continuing 3 weeks

So I’m doing this.....
This morning. It’s the marathon in Belfast today & I’m doing the 4.5 mile leg of the relay and I’ll be honest I’m nervous. I’m determined to run as much as possible as all the funds are going to the palliative care unit that took care of my big sister who passed away last August at only 45 years old

An intro to LCHF
