A few events were held around the Country today to mark this special day, In Cork, Breakthrough Cancer held a seminar at Western Gateway UCC Cork. The speakers were a gynae oncologist, palliative care doctor, dietician and a patients. It was a very interesting event, Cork City Hall is lit up in Teal tonight. Refreshments were available and welcome.
Just a reminder that the patient day will be held in Limerick on Saturday May 26th at Clayton Hotel Limerick which is close to the main rail station, Patient day is an opportunity to learn information from the speakers and meet up with other patients old and new. I am still waiting to see if the Radiologist in Dublin will do smart radiotherapy otherwise its chemo. Carboplatin starting in a week. Best wishes J
InDublin and only catching up on my up to date posts which came through since Monday. I went to the event in St a James that was held for World Ovarian Cancer day. It was really interesting to hear about the latest updates on Ovarian Cancer. I was glad I made the effort to go.
I really wanted to wish you well in whatever treatment will be planned. I hope whichever one it is will have the least side effects for you. Will you be at the May event in Limerick. I hope you I see you there . Take care
Hi Molly O, I hope you are keeping well and that the radiation is going ok if its not finished. There is more hope I am going to St James for IMRT, the radiation oncologist wanted my surgical files and I might get to see him next week no definite time but hoping we have a plan after that. If radiation I will have to stay in Dublin at the lodge in st Lukes and travel home Friday, so I doubt if I will be up to travel to Limerick if treatment starts before then, I think I am all lectured out at this stage. I will keep in touch and let you know,
