GCA and Ear Swelling, Pressure
Can GCA cause ear swelling ? I have GCA and constant ear pressure, soreness. My general practitioner couldn’t find any thing that would cause it, nor could an ear-nose-throat doctor. Even did a hearing test and all said everything is good. Would this be a flare? I’m on Actemra and 4 mg prednisone

Vision after surgery
I found out in 2022 I had a macular hole. I had the surgery then the cataract surgery. I then had cataract surgery for my other eye. My vision seems to have gotten worse in the last month or two. I go back this Wednesday for a check up and to be fitted for glasses. I was told at my last visit the

I am having trouble with my eyes, can’t move the up, down or side to side. I had cataract surgery four years ago and after that always has pain in it. I didn’t know I had Hashimotos then. Actemra; The elephant in the room. Is it working or not working for you?
GCA Feb 2018 Prednisone therapy only. Here I am 6 and half years later and still trying to find the sweet spot with prednisone--not too much/not too little---Just right. I am trying to reduce slowly using the DSNS program because it has always worked for me. I am, however, struggling now at 4.25/4.0

Upcoming cataract surgery
Hello, I am so grateful for this group and the information and advice I have gotten here. I hope someone can help me with this: I am having cataract surgery next week and wonder if any of the medications on this list, which they MAY use, would have an adverse effect on my RLS: ofloxacin (antibiotic

Who has had cataract surgery with a bleb?
So as is the way with this condition, you cruise for a while then your eyes decide they do not wish to play ball! So basically I’ve been noticing a decrease in clarity with my right eye. The Glaucoma clinic doesn’t think I’m an urgent case so I’m waiting till November where I will see a nurse 😒.

Cataract surgery on an eye with a functioning bleb.
Has anyone had cataract removal on an eye with a functioning bleb? Was it successful? I know that the chance of bleb failure is about 30%.

Posterior subcapsular cataracts surgery

Prolapse after surgery
I had a bladder prolapse stage three along with a few other parts that had prolapsed. I had all the usual symptoms, bladder hanging between my legs via my vagina, back pain, difficulty sitting and walking and severe constipation. My doctor recommended a hysterectomy since a pessary did not work for

intraocular bleed on Apixaban
I had a posterior vitreous detachment in my eye a few weeks ago. This is very common when you get older and is not usually dangerous. I already had this once, but this was before my Afib diagnosis and Apixaban. This time I was told by the ophthalmologist that I had had three minor bleeds and in fact

Cataracts & GCA
I was diagnosed with GCA in January this year & currently on 20 mg Pred - trying to taper down. I wear glasses & was told by my Optician in Oct last year that I had the beginnings of cataracts ('age related') - I'm 64. I then had them tested again in April this year as the blurriness I had experienced

Actemra problems.
My husband has been on Actemra for about two months and hasn't had any of the side affects that have been mentioned so far. However, he is ta king it because he has GCA and it was suggested it would help him get off some of the prednisone he is taking 25g when we started. He's down to 19g now but he
