Statins
Could anyone give me some advice please? I was put on Atorvastatin three months ago due to my cholesterol being 12.6, a month later a blood test revealed it had gone down to 6.8 & no further action to be taken. It’s suspected to be hereditary as my diet is extremely healthy and I’m not overweight. Is

Help needed
I am a man of 63 and after resisting taking a Statin that my DR kept advising me to take, because of a heightened risk of heart attack because of my high BP. I succumbed. It took my Cholesterol ratio from 5.9 to 3.6 happy yes.... The problem I have always exercised aerobic on the treadmill 5+km

Life long statin
My LDL as never been high, but discovered that I needed a bypass . My cardiologist says I should remain on statins for life due to the anti inflammatory effects they have., to keep my CRP low . I’m currently taking Lipitor but I believe they maybe a far better statin to have , so my question is which

Hashimotos / Hypothyroidism and Cholesterol - Should I be concerned?
Hi everyone. This community is great, and I'm happy to have found it. Some of you may recall I posted a couple months ago and shared my blood levels. I have been told I'm hypothyroid / Hashimotos (or borderline heading there). Until recently I have not paid too much attention to my cholesterol levels

Been doing really well until today and started getting bad headache. Blood pressure was 164/108 so took my nighttime dose of lisinopril and Coreg early and an hour later lower but still high at 150/95. Is this normal?

Problems weaning off Clonidine?
I was prescribed Clonidine for blood pressure spikes at times & eventually advised to take it nightly at bedtime. I’ve tried weaning off it twice because of some of the side effects, and immediately have very high spikes in blood pressure (higher than I ever had prior to adding Clonidine) and headache

I am rigidity- dominant PD ; My personal experience!
I am rigidity -dominant PD and like other PwPD my main issues arise when imbalances between Acetylcholine and Dopamine and other neurotransmitters occur. I think we are either Dopamine- dominant or Acetylcholine- dominant( my case) PD. 📍📍Note: The DaTSCAN image doesn't belong to me and that's for

Today’s the day - the saga continues on..
Hello all! Went back to my primary doctor to talk about the results from the eye doctor. Also had my BP Meds increased, more blood work and urine checked. I know pred masks other things - but they found blood - so they sent it to the lab and I should know by Monday. I’m hoping it’s just a UTI - but

Does high blood pressure cause arm veins to become distended
I have very prominent veins in my arms. Can a very high systolic pressure cause my veins to become extremely prominent? They look like blue hoses in my arms. My boyfriend thinks it's no big deal. I am afraid to take my pressure with my veins bulging out so much. My pressure was 212/166 today. Last night

I think this couple may have issues :-)
I think the lady is on a very high carb, no calorie restriction diet. I think the man is on a LCHF diet.

Learned LDL Cholesterol is Elevated to 151 (USA) or 1.7 in Europe & Prescribed Statin Drug Crestor 5mg!
First of all, I have not picked up my overall blood work papers from the doctor yet (will tomorrow), but was surprised she called me in a statin prescription before I saw the paperwork. I've been on depression meds for 2 decades and just am changing from Pristiq to Trintelix, so if I decide to take

Diabetes
I realise this is the weight-loss forum, but diabetes and obesity are inextricably linked, and we seem to have had quite a few posts on the subject lately. I was unable to respond to lucigret's tag on a closed thread, so herewith a few thoughts on the subject. 1) Back when my mum was a ward sister,
