COVID 3rd primary dose
I just wanted to say thank you for the information on this site about the third primary dose. Having explained it to my partner’s specialist, who then explained it to his GP, the GP made an appointment for him. He had a severe reaction to the first AZ dose, but that’s when he finally get the PMR diagnosis

Covid booster shot and flu shot more or less at same time safe for CLL patients?
About to get my Covid booster shot in Ontario, Canada. Already double-dosed. About to get my flu shot at the same time. I am assuming that doing so is safe if not recommended? Can someone answer this question with some certainty? I have had CLL for 19 years (!) and more recently, a lymphoma, both of

Anyone tried vitamin A oil for sensitivity control after circumcision?
I was wondering if vitamin a oil can be applied for faster sensitivity control. Because Vit A promotes keratin.

Flu jab
I was getting message after message from my gp online surgery to go for my flu jab. Finally I went expecting the jab and all fine after. But from evening I started feeling so so tired I didn’t want to sit I just wanted to lie down. Had an awful night feeling nauseous. By morning earache and throat ache

Methotrexate study to be carried out
"About 1.3 million people in the UK are on methotrexate........ A previous study from Korea showed that a fortnight's break from methotrexate immediately after the flu vaccine increased the patients' immune response to that jab. ......The University of Nottingham researchers.....will recruit 560 methotrexate

Anyone had lingering side effects from the Moderna booster?
I’m 69, had my COVID 19 booster 8 days ago. (First two vaccines were Astra Zeneca) I’ve had 24/36 hours of feeling hot, very tired and very headachy following this booster. Then I developed light headedness/feeling brain foggy and generally weak and still very tired. Rang GP who cited recent chest infection

An early Freedom Parkrun
I often try to go on a Tuesday for a 5k run and lately have been running the Parkrun course as have marshalled on the actual day. However this Tuesday I gave my 81st blood donation and so told no strenuous activity afterwards. I had booked my Covid Booster for Wednesday morning with a slim chance I could

Bad reaction to Moderna booster vaccine
I had my booster jab last Friday, I had been hoping that it would the Pfizer booster but they had run out of Pfizer and only had Moderna. I had said I would not have the Moderna jab as I have heard quite a few reports of bad after effects but as I had queued for an hour(a right fiasco at the jab center

Update....Post-Immunization/booster. Covid over. PMR Flare Blazing. YIPPEE! .... .
Hi folks, Update on my Covid infection... I had two Pfizer injections, then the Booster as it came available, and my annual flu jab. No fever with Covid infection, but did have shortness of breath. Ultimately, a trip to the hospital and a bunch of tests revealed I had break-through Covid. Treatment

Low neutrophils after vaccinations
Hi I'm new here. I've had PMR since the Autumn of 2019, diagnosed in January 2020, then GCA diagnosed in February 2020. I had a blood test which was by chance a couple of weeks after my 3rd Covid vaccination and this showed low neutrophils, which recovered after another week. So I was tested after

Is the shingles vaccine suitable for people diagnosed with sle
I have a case of shingle and was wondering if anyone has any first hand experience if the shingles vaccine is suitable for people that have sle. I had inquired months ago about the vaccine with my GP and Rhuematologist but was advised by both it was not suitable for me to have, well now I’ve got shingles

Neuroprotective effect of rapamycin against Parkinson's disease in mice - 2018 https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/30693687/
Conclusions: Rapamycin inhibits the activation of mTOR pathway, which contributes to protect against the loss of dopaminergic neurons and provide behavioral improvements in mice with Parkinson's disease. These results are partially related to the ability of rapamycin in inducing autophagy and reducing

Momma loves bologna! I took her out today to get her flu shot …. And we started laughing at our love for bologna 🤣🤣🤣 I know this is random and silly … but today she is alert and the sun is shining and I want her to feel as normal as possible! Picture of course is deceiving … I placed that piece

Johns Hopkins COVID-19 Antibody Study results
Hi Awhile back, some helpful poster here (everyone is so helpful!) posted news about this Johns Hopkins research project and included a link where one could apply. Thank you
Thanks so much to all who replied to my plea for advice /opinions on whether to have flu and covid booster jabs at the same time. I am on my way to have the booster jab only and my flu jab will wait a while longer, I'm much less anxious now and no flare-up of afib. Thank you all! Tom
