Should you be on the vulnerable list based on your RA meds?

You could get your jab at a pharmacy as an alternative? You would have to pay just over a tenner I think.

If you are eligible for a flu jab at the doctors due to age or any other reason you can get a free one at a pharmacy too. You need to take your NHS number with you and ask for the NHS form.

If you are on meds for your RA, also underactive thyroid and asthma etc then I would've thought you would be on the list. Check with your rhuemy team maybe.

Hiya GJJ. Are they aware you are actually on the vulnerable list? I ask as I'm on MTX & qualify for a free flu jab after the 65's & over have had theirs (they have a different vaccine). So you being on baricitinib (Olumiant), I take it you still are, but even if you aren’t, you'll still be on a JAK or anti-TNF/biologic so you should qualify to have it early on. You're over 50 too, but I'm not sure where that puts you on the list to be honest, I’m 61 though & been contacted.

That said my Surgery sent me a text to say it would be delayed & due to the same problem last year we had ours at the chemist where we have our scripts filled. They contacted us earlier than our Surgery to ask if we wanted it done by them again so we did, on 28th Sept. If yours offers the same service all you need to do is give them your NHS number to have it free of charge. My Surgery did text me to say that I could book in but that was weeks after I’d had it.

I've just looked at your past posts and eight months ago you said you were going to be 64 this year, People over the age of 50 are eligible for a free flu vaccination this year. If your having no luck at your doctors a lot of chemist are doing them. I've been to Boots in the past, easy to get an appointment and it's free.

I'm over 50 and had my flu jab done at Boots at the end of September. It's easy just book an appointment online. It's free if you are over 50.

Me and my hubby went to Boots as our Dr says they hav'nt got any yet for under 65's. We are both over 50 so it's free. I'm on the vulnerable list for being on mtx and Imraldi. Although some people on same meds as me aren't. Vulnerable list or not if over 50 go to pharmacy.

My son and daughter in law had theirs free at Boots late September, over 50 but not vulnerable. I had mine at my surgery due to my age and also CEV, please check regarding your drugs, my surgery at the beginning of the pandemic hadn’t noted I was on Humira, as this bio med was delivered to me from Healthcare at home. All best wishes x

That sounds crazy. You should be classed as vulnerable and needing to be on the list for a flu injection. I'd be asking why it isn't on your notes.
