SWOLLEN ANKLES WITH LUNG CONDITION
Hi, This is my first post on here I think. Almost a year ago I was in hospital as I couldn't breath, felt like I was suffocating. I'd had a chest x-ray 6 months previous and was told my lungs were quite normal and my dr couldn't find a reason for my breathlessness. It did improve for a while, but came

Severe COPD and cataracts.
Hello Everyone, I had my eyes tested recently and the optician told me I had cataracts. He said, ‘you do know you can’t have the operation?’ Which I didn’t. From what I can find out it’s because I can’t lie ‘supine’ or flat on my back and also because of the increased possibility of coughing. I

Reaction to trabeculectomy
I'm 66 and it was decided that as drops were no longer controlling pressure, I needed to have trabeculectomy in both eyes. Had first op last summer but had a toxic reaction resulting in my eye being closed, severe reaction to light as well as constant irritation. 11 months later eye still not fully open

Eye Drop Prescription Bottles don’t last 4 weeks
Hi, just wonder if anyone else has a similar problem. I take Brinzolamide twice a day in one eye and Travapost at bedtime. The Brinzolamide only ever lasts me 3 weeks although prescription says it should last for 4 weeks. Maybe because I am more concerned about getting a good dose each application. I

Pegasys issues
Hi everyone previously I had told you that I was having Sjogrens symptoms while on Pegasys. I stopped it and saw a rheumatologist. She was very dismissive. She told me to just look up my own results on the portal and because she was convinced, without seeing any results that i do not have Sjogrens.

Nail stain
Hi, I’m here again but now asking for any experience with nail stain, a dark one ( Melanonychia ) related with Thyroid issues. I got it in one of my nail and waiting for a NHS specialist doctor appointment now. I know this can be a big problem, but looking on internet some of melanonychia can be related

The Rheumatology Saga Continues!
UPDATE..... Was offered an NHS Rheumatologist appointment today due to a late cancellation and I thought I'd take it rather than wait until February to see my Benenden Rheumatologist. I met a Dr Chung and he was absolutely lovely.....spent 45 mins running me through everything and checking my results

Link between dry eyes and throat and PMRGCA? Any ideas?
This is my first post, so it’s a bit long-winded, as I’ve included some context and background. Context: • About 20 years ago, when I was in my mid-50s, I developed dry eyes and dry throat. This was eventually diagnosed as ‘dry eye/dry throat syndrome’. I had my tear ducts plugged to minimise loss

Inadvertent taper of prednisolone
I inadvertently took 5mg instead of 10mg prenisolone for 2 days( before which everything was fine) and all my inflammation symptoms of my uveitis came back(haziness etc). . Now I'm back on 10mg . Any idea how long it would take for these symptoms to resolve itself?

problems wearing glasses?
Hi. I’ve always worn glasses - very shortsighted so a strong prescription and heavy lenses. For a long time I’ve had to pay for the lightest possible lenses and small frames, because of headaches. But despite that, in the last 2-3 years I get sores on the sides of my nose where the glasses rest. It’s

I was prescribed Latanoprost for one eye. After two doses I experienced severe pain in the eye which lasted at least eight hours. I stopped taking the drops and the bad pain subsided. But I still feel mild discomfort in the eye and it feels a bit gritty. At night I feel mild discomfort in the eye and
