I had a cataract removed on Friday last and make the stupid mistake of putting the wrong post op drops in my eye. I had to ring the emergency services and between them and my daughter I managed to get to the emergency room. They sluiced my eye out after administering antiseptic and rang the consultant to ask for advice. I was there a few hours and had to return to the eye hospital the following morning. So much pain , the hospital said that it was ok and not to worry, “ mistakes can happen”. I felt so stupid with myself but they said that the cornea was a bit angry, but was fine.
All the work and I nearly messed up, happy to say that today all seems to be going on ok and it’s such a pleasure to see colours again. Thanks for reading.

Hi Stoneferry8. We all make mistakes don't we and it's easily done so don't worry about that, especially as you've had it checked out and today all seems fine. I agree about seeing the colours, it is good isn't it and print too, also the sun isn't as bright as it was before the op. Good luck going forward.
I think we are looked after very well at eye clinics.
My first cataract op had problems, part of the cataract dropped to the back of the eye and so the new lens couldn’t be put in. A week later after drops I was given another op to take the piece out and put the new lens in. It went really well. Whilst waiting for the next op my other cataract got worse quickly and I was only a tiny bit bp nervous about the problem happening again. The consultant who did this one said she really didn’t think it should happen again and during the op was quick to tell me she had got it all out.
My sight has improved so much and it was all worth it,
