I have ET Calr diagnosed 5 years ago on Hydroxycarbamide. Recently I have had problems with my eyes. Very achey, dry, frequent styes. My GP gave me eyedrops for the dry eyes, which have helped but the eye ache is still a problem. Anyone else experienced this?

Dry achey eyes
I have dry eyes and eye pain. The pain is infrequent, but when it hits, wow. When it happens, my eyes will be fine until I touch one of them. Then there is a sharp pain. It can happen in either eye. I wonder if it is related to my sinuses since I have frequent sinus drainage from allergies.
I’ve had a lot of dry eye issues as I’ve gotten older, along with clogged glands along the eye lid. I finally gave in to the doctor’s recommendation to use lid wipes and a warm/moist compress twice a day - in addition to eye drops. It has been helping quite a bit, as much as I hate building this into the daily routine. I use Systane lid wipes and the Bruder moist heat eye compress. These things really take little time, and the difference is encouraging me to keep it going. Good luck! These eye issues can be extremely bothersome.
Hi, I'm not on HU or any other drug except daily aspirin. I've struggled with plugged eyelids, frequent styes and on-going eyelid problems since my 40's. Have a combination of things I do to keep it from completely faring up but it has been a pain in the butt! I massage my eye lids with baby shampoo in the shower, use frequent warm hand towels, oral & direct antibiotics, eyelid wipes, avenova, and have an eye mask that heats up. I've basically tried everything but am now looking into ILUX which is a laser treatment for the eyelids. I'm told I have ocular rosacea and had bad acne when I was younger. I've always had great luck with lasers (IPL) on face and even used laser for Lichen Scerosis. All issues responded great to Lasers. Good luck.......Totally empathetic with the eyelid problem.......not fun to keep up with this daily. Kerry
I have a significant case of dry eye. It is not directly related to the MPN nor to any medication side effect. I tried OTC eye drops. Restasis, Xiidra - none of which worded. My eye doc suggested Cequa, which works great. No more dry eye at all. Suggest consulting an ophthalmologist regarding this issue. There is likely relief available.
My ophthalmologist recommended Genteal Gel. You put It on your lower lids at night, I have not used it yet. I have increased my use of Systane Ultr eye drops.
