New here - what should I discuss with my rheumatologist?
Hi :) I've been watching this forum for a while now and already have seen so many great posts from a knowledge point of view, but also in knowing that I'm not alone! This is my first post and I'm wondering, in your experiences, what should I discuss with the rheumatologist for my initial consultation

I have a question about my test results, I was hoping someone here could help explain to me what it might mean because I’m not confident the doctors I’m seeing know anything about this stuff. I had a low b12 level (175), along with high homocysteine and high methylmalonic acid. I was then tested for

Cost of Tests
Can someone please tell me what it would cost to have Pernicious Anemia tests done privately? I had NHS bloods sent off a while ago and my GP told me they were all negative. When I asked to see the results she was reluctant to show me. I got to see them eventually and most of them were listed as '

Stuck in Time in the US
Hi guys, I have a question. I was diagnosed back in February with PA. My B12 was 94 pg/ml and I tested positive for IF antibodies. I was presenting with neurological symptoms. Classic off balance and short term memory problems. Basically I had pretty much classic PA symptoms all around. My GP had me

PA and Hashimoto’s is there a link?
So after being on levo for a few months I feel a lot better, however I still get chest pains, headaches, numb/tingly feet/toes and breathlessness. Recent blood test showed, I am deficient in b12. I am a vegetarian, however I do eat cheese (probably more than I should) fortified cereals, Greek yogurt/

Issues with Accord
Good morning everyone, I hope you’re all well 😊 I’m just wondering if anyone is having issues with Accord since it changed from Actavis please? I’m having terrible morning nausea and dizziness, initially I thought it was down to taking folic acid for low folate but I completed my 4 month course a few

B12 level after a year of twice weekly injections.
Hello everyone. I would be interested in your opinions regarding my recent b12 test results done at my regular physical 2 days ago. I have a history of PA diagnosed 1 year ago after having almost a year of semi-numbness neuropathy. I also had macrocytic anemia and subacute combined degeneration of

Letter rather than a phone call about a lesion found
I'm in a bit of a state of bad anxiety about a letter from my endo doc. It came 2 weeks after a thyroid ultrasound and stated they had found a lesion posterior to the left lobe and would be referring me for a SPECT scan. Its now been a week since I received the letter and still not heard anything I have

Gluten Free Homemade Cheese Blintz: Dinner
Good evening/morning/afternoon everyone. This is a homemade gluten free cheese blintz with ricotta cheese, egg whites, raspberry jam and fat free margarine. We had ice cream for dessert and the entire meal was 54 carbs.. Really great taste and we plan to do this again soon. Stay safe, happy and healthy

Chi machine?
Has anyone used a Chi Machine? A man at my church who has Parkinson's said he used to use the machine to help him sleep. (He had Deep Brain Stimulation and is now doing really well. No more tremors and his sleep is much better so it sounds like he doesn't use the Chi Machine any more.)

What is mucormycosis, the fungal infection affecting COVID patients in India?
This week we’ve seen reports of an infection called mucormycosis, often termed “black fungus”, in patients with COVID, or who are recovering from COVID, in India. Fungal infections can be devastating. And in this case mucormycosis is adding to the burden of suffering in a country already in a deep COVID

From Low to Extremely high Ferritin - inflammation?
After months of my ferritin level at 7 (about 10 months) last year in August I had another blood test and it leaped up to 534. My dr said that it was artificially high because he saw some inflammatory marker, (I can’t say which one it was). A year later, blood test found it is 391. I had no iron supplementation
