Gastroenterology telephone appointment
Update: The Gastroenterology Doctor telephoned and with my help, my daughter's memory is bad, we outlined the last 4 years. He will organise a small bowel mri, an endoscopy and PA antibody test (although these are not necessarily reliable) it is a relief she is being taken seriously. Previously

Supermarket syndrome ! Did anyone see the Mystery Illnesses programme last night ?
I watched a programme late last night presenting three cases of mystery illnesses and resolutions. For one person, who had had unexplained vertigo for her whole adult life, they showed what it felt like for her when she went into a supermarket. It was exactly what happened to me when I first

Could you please look over latest results
Hi all, how do my latest results look to you guys? This is after increasing Levo from 75 to 100? Still not feeling great, I have got my Vit D up from 65-110 nmol so still working on that. And am currently getting gp to look into b12 as I have symptoms. Folate, ferritin are optimal & iron ok. Bloods done

How long should I go off iron supplements before testing?
Hi I’ve been on 3 prescription iron supplements a day since January and am having my iron, ferritin, and cbc tested on Friday. How long should I go off my iron supplements to get an accurate reading? Thanks so much

Back to Work??
Some of you will know that since my diagnosis 2yrs ago, I have made 2 unsuccessful attempts to return to my job working in a nursery class in a primary school. Over the past two years I've only managed to attend work for two half term periods! I absolutely love my job and love all the wonderful children

Can biologics work VERY quickly?
Hi all Apologies for another post. Just wondering how quickly people have found biologics take to start working? I ask because - as you probably have seen - I only injected Adalimumab for the very first time just over 48 hours ago, and today I am feeling massively better, to a quite ridiculous degree

Intrinsic Factor Pills + B12 + Folic acid combination tablets for PA. Does it work?
Hi, I got diagnosed with PA recently. I am in monthly shots for now after the loading doses. While browsing through, I saw the B12 tablets combined with Folic acid and Intrinsic factor. Has anyone tried these combination and effective for PA on absorption? Are there any side effects if it works? Does

Need help raising Iron
Hi all. I've taken a few tests in the past weeks and am at a loss over how slowly iron has been going up. First took an NHS test, which was taken at 11am on 18 Feb. I heard 10.15am on the phone, but turns out it was planned for 10.50am, yikes. Once I got seated the blood was drawn at 11am. No

Exercise impact on B12
I am sadly self diagnosed as my B12 levels came back in the low but normal range and GP was not interested despite exhibiting a large array of typical symptoms, some quite severe, and a very high MCH result. I decided to self-inject and after feeling worse following the first loading doses, gradually

First visit to a neurologist for B12 deficiency
I was diagnosed with B12 deficiency Oct 2020, had loading injections, as orally supplements had on effect, which cured some symptoms, but not all. Been referred to a private neurologist this Saturday. What should I expect and what should I be asking?

B12 and Folate levels
Hi, I have been having B12 injections for around 5 years since diagnosis and thanks to the excellent advice on this forum I am now self-injecting every 3 weeks. ( My GP would only agree to every 8 weeks). Whilst taking blood for other medical issues, my GP has checked my B12 and Folate levels which

Need help with new results
I took a test with Thriva and am I'm a bit puzzled because my thyroid values and ferritin hardly budged despite being medicated and working on the nutrients. As of February 2nd, I take 50mcg levo, 5-10mg liquid iron (spatone, 4 hour interval between levo and supplments), 30-40,000iU vit D weekly, eat

Feeling tired again?
Hi, everyone — I’m wondering if you all might have some insight here. I started B12 injections and iron supplementation last August. Since then, lots of my symptoms have improved: I no longer suffer from specific neuropathies (it used to feel like a wasp was stinging my toe!), I don’t have the daily
