First time posting here with questions
Hello, I was wondering how to tell if you need b12 injections when you take oral b12 and your serum b12 always comes out looking great? I haven't had it tested recently but past tests always come out way over the range. Anyway, I saw a post by @Marz in which she said that she takes b12 due to having

My baby girl.
Good morning all. I've been writing my updates as anonymous as possible but trying to give relevant information and updates to the condition. In reality I've been writing on my wife's behalf. She was diagnosed in February this year and was taking tremendous strides in getting better. She looked fantastic

"Subacute" "Combined" spinal cord degeneration, decoded?
An ongoing question is the meaning of the initial terms of Subacute Combined Spinal Cord Degeneration. Jade recently posted a link to the article, "A Case of Subacute Combined Degeneration of Spinal Cord Diagnosed by Vitamin B12 Administration Lowering Methylmalonic Acid" I was grazing through the references

Advice re purple lidded blood tubes.
Four times now I have had a failure with the purple lidded tube when trying to do the full health screen from Monitor my Health. It is for the anemia panel and I mainly get “clot detected “ and that I am not inverting the tube and rolling it between my hands for thirty seconds. Thing is that I am following

Help with test results - haemochromatosis with iron deficiency?
A few years ago I regularly had blood tests which showed high iron levels so my doc suspected Haemochromatosis. I had the genetic testing which showed I had the gene mutation. I used to get blood drawn to treat it and bring down my iron levels. However, recently I had blood tests which showed low ferritin

blue fingers when in hot bath??
Has anyone else had this? It happen to my toes when I was in the shower the other day too. I don’t know if it’s Raynauds or my low ferritin/anemia or what. About to go for a colonoscopy this week for the anemia and a high positive FIT test but I can’t see it being linked to that.

Advice needed on iron levels (plus an update on Targinact)
Hi everyone, I posted recently asking for advice about Targinact, which I started taking on 10 January. I had such an extreme and horrible reaction that I stopped taking it 15 days later. Given my dose was only 5/2.5mg daily, I haven't had any withdrawal issues other than feeling very tired and depressed

Low iron
I have an iron count of between 29 and 33 from 2021 to now on a range of 11-360. For the last six months I've been taking a supplement to boost the serum iron level and the level has dropped from 33 to 31. I think I'm anaemic for symptomatic reasons. I SI EOD and have done for a year. My health is beginning

Where do I go to?
I am a 60 year old male, I don’t know if I have PA, B12 deficiency or other. I have a number of symptoms which lead me to believe it is at least a B12 deficiency. Having asked my GP for an “active” B12 test I received a full serum test which came with normal levels and apparently that was me cured, my

What vitamin supplements to take alongside B12 injections?
Hi all - I'm currently on monthly injections for PA but still feel tired every morning even after a good nights sleep; low energy days; trouble focusing etc - sure you'll all be familiar with the symptoms! I've had several further blood tests and vitamin D and iron deficiencies have been identified

Hello strangers.
Hello, just thought that having been banned from the Cllforum years ago for no good reason, I would catch up with what has been happening to some of the people I liked so much. (I was banned for complaining about the ALT-MED stuff that used to appear so regularly there, and the fact that it was treated

Blood test results
I have so little faith in my surgery these days, and because I was feeling really drained I did a home anemia test. The result was abnormal, so I contacted the surgery to arrange for a blood test. What a performance!!! I told the receptionist I did a home test and the result was to see a doctor. It
