Struggling to bring down blood sugars
Hi Friends, As some of you know I've been on a journey and taking T3 was the real game changer. I am under the care of a fantastic private Endo. I've included my thyroid and sugar results in this post. My insulin is elevated indicating insulin resistance. All tests are done fasting and no meds

Diabetes and oesophagectomy
I had an oesophagectomy (keyhole) in December 2021. I've made a slow, steady recovery and feel very lucky to be as well as I am today. I eat well but of course in much smaller quantities.I'm a type 2 diabetic and prior to my op I had my diabetes well controlled using Metformin and diet. I was told, at

GP appointment today - help!
Hello lovely people, I have a GP appointment today and I wanted to ask for advice. I'm on 125mg Levothyroxine. Feel well except for inability to lose weight, Have lost about 3 stone over past 4 yrs but need to lose 2-3 more I'd say (don't use scales). I have pretty much optimised all necessary vitamins

Appendicitis and PMR?
I’m 67, have well controlled PMR and take 5mg of Prednisolone. I have been on a low carb diet because of a diagnosis of pre diabetes. On occasion I have been feeling tired recently and put that down to the change of diet. Ten days ago I got severe stomach cramps and a temperature and went to the GP

Newly diagnosed; so scared, confused, and depressed
Hello. I'm so glad to have found this supportive and helpful community! I apologize for the long post. I first noticed when I received routine bloodwork results a year ago that my eGFR was flagged as low at 80. Since I didn't know what an eGFR was, I started researching and was alarmed to read that

My story is a long one-I developed a squint and then mono-occularism around 5yrs otherwise fit and healthy though shy, quiet but determined. At the age of 13 I felt like someone had switched me on or woken me up but by 15 I had my first allergic response to food-Hovis wheat germ bread. I became muscular

Hormonal therapy ?
Hi, I was diagnosed with extended DCIS with ER+, PR+.I had a total mastectomy with a diep flap 2 weeks ago, My surgeon referred me to medical oncology for hormonal therapy. I am curious do I still need hormonal therapy as I already had a mastectomy, as far as cancer recurrence and preventing cancer

Another new friend 🙂😸
A different walk, same road and different Cat 😸I am getting back to my regular walking again now following my recent back issue ! It's not back to normal yet but probably around 80% improvement. Not back at the gym yet but we will see what Wednesday brings . For now I'm happy to be getting out and about

Stumped
I had my gallbladder removed on 31st August this year. Since then I've stuck to a very healthy low fat diet. No junk food, processed food, carry outs or sweets. My problem is I seem to struggle to have a poo in the morning?? It's a real effort!! I was on dihydrocodeine for back pain and decided to come

Victory!!
Finally, I have no more symptoms of RLS - through diet alone! I eat no more than 40G carbs/day, eat at least 50G protein/day, eat no sugar, maple syrup, sugary drinks, jams, jellies - nothing with a glycemic index over 40, eat only low histamine foods, and follow all the other traditionally recommended

Pain relief.
I used to be able to control the pain by sticking to a very low fat diet. But for the last 18months I've been in pain every day, I have also found that the pain becomes worse when I'm walking which is really getting me down as it is hard to avoid walking it is necessary. Could anyone tell me what they

Hello! I am 20 years deep at age 40 into basically helping doctors regulate my thyroid after a horrible medical overdose at age 17 my thyroid was never the same ….perhaps it was like that as a kid from a traumatic move because I gained 40 pounds seemingly overnight, however I didn’t become medicated

ADVICE ??
All my symptoms were always blamed on not eating a controlled
gluten
free
diet
. Now that I am GF, the stomach issues are worse and they say it’s IBS-C. I’ve had a lot of problems with constipation, trying every medicine you can think of without great results .

Ketogenic/Paleo diet
I have been following a ketogenic diet with very little dairy. It is very low carb and I've lost weight and generally feel better on it. However, a recent blood test showed that I have a low sodium level. Whilst I do season food I don't eat any processed food, so no crisps, savoury snacks etc. that

The rehab continues!
My rehab sessions at the local gym continue 2x a week where I have been doing a mixture of strength training and cardio work .This has been very successful in toning up areas that had needed it , especially with the recent weight loss of 14.5kg (2.5 stone) The plantar Fasciitis is certainly less but
