Pain relief.

I used to be able to control the pain by sticking to a very low fat diet. But for the last 18months I've been in pain every day, I have also found that the pain becomes worse when I'm walking which is really getting me down as it is hard to avoid walking it is necessary. Could anyone tell me what they take for the pain, and is it effective. Over the counter pain killers do not help. I feel so down and miserable at the moment.

I feel for you, I am also in pain every day & walking makes it worse. I am on paracetamol, metamizole & tramadol but still in pain. May I ask when you were diagnosed ?

Hi, I started with pancreas problems when my gall bladder was removed that was nearly 26 years ago. I have had good spells in that time, but over the last 18 months I have been in pain every day always starts after eating and then goes on for about 3 and half hours but then I eat and it starts all over again. The pain when walking is a new thing about year ago that started. I have a very restricted diet I cannot eat fat at all, so I'm underweight. The funny thing is my Pancreas always appears normal on MRI scan, but my Serum Amylase is always raised. I can't tolerate Tramadol it always makes me sick. Have you ever been offered a Coeliac plexus nerve block?

Hey Jim , Joe in Florida here . I’m having a lot of the same issues and I’m in the middle of a battle with the insurance companies trying to get the treatment I need . . But here is a tip, in addition to dieting what I noted that has helped is daily walks and basic yoga 2-3 x a week . It doesn’t have to be perfect form but studies have shown it to promote pancreatic secretion .
