IVF and diabetes
So I don't know if this will help anyone here, but having been through a few IVF rounds with a few different clinics I thought I'd share what I learned. 1. IVF doctors know pretty much NOTHING about diabetes. Your GP can tell you that your blood sugar levels are perfect but unless they're in normal (

Hi everyone, I have done the lab after 3 months of first diagnosed as CKD stage 2 and just received both good news and bad news on it. Good news: eGFR increased from 82 to 97.5 and Albuminuria is no more occurring. Bad news: My HbA1c is 6.4%, which is showing that I am severely at the threshold between

Vitamin C
You will have probably seen me mention I take Vitamin C to try and stave off irritation often a precursor to plaque formation. Research in Australia suggests it also helps in controlling blood pressure (hypertension) and reducing blood glucose spikes in Type II diabetes. If you decide to try it do

A leading Endochrinolgist advises a Thin Type-2 Diabetic! Interesting!
Here is what a leading Endochrinolgist from a leading Hospital has to say to a T2 patient of 44 years old. The patient lost weight going from 49 kg to 38 kg in her dietary approach to control blood sugar... The YouTube video link is attached at the bottom of this posting..... I'm sorry it is in Hindi

Happy at 4mg
Hi, I’ve now reached my maintenance dose of 4mg for PM after 4 months taper from 15mg. I tried 3.5mg for a couple of weeks but the stiffness and fatigue started to build. I have now decided to stay at 4mg for the foreseeable as I can continue my sport and work at this level. A lot of people seem determined

Newbie - not yet diagnosed, looking for advice
I'm not diagnosed but am looking for advice on what I should expect (based on experience over the last few years I'm not expecting a diagnosis to be easy!) Several years I've been tired, chills, heavy frequent menstrual bleeding, weight gain and loss, headaches, blurred vision, my hair seems to be moulting

Questions, unanswered questions and implied questions ?
We all have unanswered questions. we all ask one question and see if we can find the correct answer! What is fasting blood glucose test and ? What is HbA1c1 blood test and why? Is there a new guide line to HbA1c level? How is insulin dosage calculated? Is life style change and regular exercise important

If the fibro flares badly I can't move much but also need to keep exercising to keep blood glucose stable. I would welcome any tips from other sufferers who are also type 1 diabetic and living

Seen hormone specialist, more confused than ever...!
So I've been for my long overdue annual visit to my hormone doctor in Belgium and I have to admit I received quite a lot of confusing and even contradictory advice that I would love for members to comment on: First of all, when it comes to my massive weight gain (+25 kg) since being treated with high

Is obesity/diabetes a glucose problem or an Insulin problem?
When you eat carbohydrates (and especially refined carbohydrates or sugar) they increase your blood glucose. Usually, for decades, insulin controls your blood glucose - but hyperinsulinaemia is not good for you. It is only when the problem is beginning to get out of control, and your insulin cannot cope

How do I avoid hunger?
Sugar and (refined) carbohydrates make you hungry: Refined carbohydrates are converted into sugar very quickly. Sugar gets into your bloodstream as Blood Glucose. Blood Glucose spikes Insulin. Insulin takes glucose out of the bloodstream (and stores it as fat). Insulin prevents you from burning fat.
