Diabetes 2 or just insulin resistance...?
My GP has diagnosed me with diabetes 2 based on my latest lab results. I've been struggling with insulin resistance for a few years but previously managed to keep it under control (and lose weight) using berberine. In the past nine months, I've put on a lot of weight and have had incredible cravings

Laura and the DICE Trial - I’m In!!!
I just hope this is a good thing. The melodious voice of Melody, my research nurse, caught me in Sainsbury’s to let me know that I qualified and would be in the TAC228 arm of the trial. I was excited and thrilled to be starting tomorrow, as was my little family, anxious to see me in treatment. Then I

I have just completed my regular 68-hour fast. I fit fasts in between scheduled meals - and I have an Age Concern meal alternate Fridays - so I have been fasting every four weeks. what happens if stop Metforamin?
I've read that if the eGFR is <30 the doctor will most likely take you off Metforamin. My husband's been on it for about 3 years. If he has to quit, will his diet become more strict as far as carbs, etc? Or is there a different drug? Since diagnosed with T2, he's lost over 100 pounds and I'm thinking

How long does it take to get into "Fat burning mode" with IF, LCHF and exercise?
Intermittent Fasting is not eating all day, and, when you are not eating, your glycogen energy gets depleted, and you start to get energy from your fat reserves. (Intermittent) Fasting is about so much more than weight loss, but burning fat to lose weight and improve body-fat percentage the main reason

Labs back, would appreciate feedback!
So, I have had some labs back. I have been on Berberine 1500 mg daily (500x3) since 2015. Back then, it helped me lose 28 kilograms and have a normal BMI for the first time in years. I have since put it all back (the weight gain started after I was put on high doses of prednisolone last year - I took

Thyroid and other labs
I have been feeling hyperthyroid lately so have been decreasing Thyroid-S over several months, from 5 to 3 grains, without much symptom relief I might add. My latest labs from Sept 09 read as follows: TSH <0.01 mUI/L (0.35-4.5) free T4 ng/dL 0.7 (0.7-1.5) free T3 pg/mL 2.7 (1.6-3.2) I usually take Thyroid-S

In the end, I gave in and cycled to my doctor’s surgery, where he checked my blood glucose levels. They were sky high at 45 [a normal level is between 4 and 7]. I was astonished.
' Very interesting story. you can read it in today's mail

Dr Mindy Pelz's Fasting Benefits Chart
Dr Mindy has authorised me to share her "Fasting benefits Chart" (see photo) which tells us how much we get of which benefits of fasting we get at which stage of fasts up to five days. Fasting is about so much more than losing weight - and the chart shows you at what stages of the fast you get what level

Would like input from people who have tried Saxenda (especially people with hypothyroidism)
I'm new to this group but already a member of the thyroid and diabetes forums. I'm desperate to lose weight. I've been overweight most of my adult life.
