When you eat carbohydrates (and especially refined carbohydrates or sugar) they increase your blood glucose.
Usually, for decades, insulin controls your blood glucose - but hyperinsulinaemia is not good for you. It is only when the problem is beginning to get out of control, and your insulin cannot cope, that your glucose rises - and you get diagnosed as (pre)diabetic.
Dr. Berg, he sure knows his stuff when it comes to the body.
Obesity may be linked to insulin but I don’t think it is just insulin at play here.
I think reined sugars have a lot to do with weight gain as well.
Sure if you ate a lot of fruit, you will pile on the pounds but if you were to eat out at McDonald’s/cafés every day you would get fatter a lot faster as the foods are full of refined sugar.
