That worked quickly
After my HA and angioplasty 18 months ago I was prescribed Ramipril 2.5 mg twice a day.I had a review at our surgery some 7 weeks ago, I mentioned to our GP that I occasionally felt dizzy for a second if I got out of a chair very quickly, as my BP was consistently coming out at 105/63 (regularly measured

Substitute Eplerenone for Prednisone with Zytiga?
I am taking Eligard + Zytiga + Prednisone (5mg). I would like to stop the prednisone and substitute eplerenone (Inspra), if that is viable. I found this exchange from earlier this year from Gearhead, with comments from Tango65 and T_A, among others. Has anyone stopped prednisone altogether in

Going through tests, really really worried and would like some support and advice please?
I am 40 years old, female. I have had heart palpitations, racing heart and high blood pressure for over a year now. I feel like I am a little short of breath and doing minimal exertion such as getting dressed or walking up the stairs sets these heart issues off. I currently take 5mg Amlodipine and 2mg

I met an Endocrinolgist yesterday
I had a letter out of the blue a few weeks ago 1 week after I ordered a private finger prick test from the UK MMH firm. I asked the phlebotomy dept to bring the appt with them sooner as I was keen to drop the Levothyroxine sooner rather than later, also I wanted to get a 9pm appt with them to see what

Amlodipine strange smell and stinging eyes
All I have been on 5mg of amlodipine for about 5 weeks, my blood pressure has increased in that time. I have noticed over the last ten days that i am smelling a smell like a dirty over is turned on, rather than smelling something in particular the air feels polluted. My eyes stings as well. This

Has anyone else stopped taking a daily statin?
Hi everyone, I'm wondering if I'm alone in deciding that I no longer wish to continue taking statins? I'm into my ninth week of recovery following Bypass Surgery. I'm extremely aware that compared to a lot of people who have found themselves in my situation I'm blessed. The only fly in the ointment

Breathlessness in Sinus Rhythm
I am a 72 year old female who was diagnosed with AF in January 2021. I had my second ablation on 26th October this year and have been in NSR ever since (thank goodness and long may it last!) However, although my heart rate and blood pressure are so far pretty well within acceptable parameters, I still

Forging On in Permanent AF
Hi everyone. Saw Cardiologist for Paroxysmal AF in December 2019. He referred me to an EP. In Feb 2020, the week before I was due to see the EP, I had an SCA towards end of a squash match. According to all the reporting protocol records, despite 12 minutes of defib resus efforts by the squash centre

Been on Ramipril for 3 weeks. Got diarrhoea and cold extremities which I've never had . Tempted to stop and see if symptoms stop. Advice and experiences welcome. Is this unusual?? Will I be compromised if a stop for a few days???

I’ve had permanent AF for a year. On 1.5mg Bisoprolol , 10mg Amlodipine, 20mg Rivaroxiban. 20mgAtorvastatin l. My resting heart rate stays between 70 and 100 and 120 walking measured on Iwatch and BP machine. I would like to help keep my heart rate low and wondered what is the best food

Clopidogrel causing duodenitis?
I've been taking clopidogrel, amlodipine and statins for years now. Over the last year or so I have developed inflammation of the duodenum, confirmed by endoscopy. The consultant wrote "duodenitis caused by clopidogrel" on his summary of findings. However, since then doctors have declined to go down

Right-sided heart failure
Hi all. Have any of experience and/or advice regarding this condition? My recent Echo showed that I have this but I admit to be very concerned as the prognosis seems so poor, giving only around a year, which terrifies me. Any medications recommended? I am currently on nebivolol, ivabradine, butmetanide
