TENS machines.
Hi everyone. As a PV patient on Rivaroxaban, Hydroxycarbamide and Amlodipine, I know we’re not allowed ibruprofen. Does anyone have experience with or know whether we can use a TENS machine for muscle pain relief? Thanks

Feeling tired and depressed
Hello everyone. I was diagnosed with heart failure in July this year. It was a huge shock to me and I had a bit of a nervous breakdown. Despite this I went to all of the cardio rehab classes and continue to try and go to the gym but i feel so tired. I sleep from about 10 at night until 10 in the morning

Stage 4 Kidney disease caused by lithium
I am now at 25 gfr. I am leaking protein and have been told this condition was caused by Lithium prescribed to me 20 years ago. This drug also destroyed my thyroid function. I am on Ramipril 2.5 mg per day to try and stop the protein leak. This leak apparently is causing high cholesterol of 8.4. I have

Heart attack & 25 minuet cardiac arrest
My husband (49) had an inferior stemi out of the blue at the end of October. His right coronary artery was completely blocked, so he had an emergency stent fitted in hospital. Shortly after this he went into cardiac arrest on the Coronary Care Unit. He was shocked several times over a period of 25 minutes

Using the Alivecor Kardia Mobile post ablation
Like most, if not all, people here who have an Alivecor Kardia Mobile device, I am not trained to analyse ECG traces but I have seen several of my own recorded on multi-lead instruments, have researched the basics on the internet and have read the ‘primers’ supplied by Alivecor. I hope the nightmare is now over
As well as the heart attack in AUgust and two further blockages for which I had a pressure angiogram last Friday, I also have very severe abdominal adhesions which cause excruciating spinal pain. (Bladder and bowel are glued to spinal ligaments). Any kind of bloating or constipation rips on my spine

Nite Time Ramipril
Notice that several posts here, where patients have suggested taking Ramipril before bed. Are there benefits for taking it before bedtime? Ramipril is know for its side effects with people and I’m having blocked up ears issues and breathlessness. Thanks

Mild to moderate systolic dysfunction
Hello, I'm new here and just wondered if anyone has had the same or similar symptoms. About three months ago I began to have occasional very slight chest pains - more twinges than anything else but not lasting more than a few seconds at a time and to the left side of my chest. I went to my GP who did

Work or not
Exactly 4 weeks ago I found myself undergoing an angioplasty - 1 stent LAD, after a prior urgent referral and 6 days in local hospital. I had been breathlessness on exertion for several weeks before, diagnosed twice as a chest infection but no matter I am grateful for the eventual (told timely) intervention

My AF of 2 weeks is being treated with Flecainide, and with Bisoprolol and long-standing drug Felodipine for high blood pressure. My GP called me in for an aftercare appt. this coming Friday and I have ECG and 24hr monitor arranged for 3 weeks hence. But right now I'm plain scared. The symptoms

4 months post RF ablation
Approximately a year ago I was diagnosed with heart failure. I spent the following four months or so following the NHS processes in an attempt to identify the cause and appropriate treatment. I was told that I had Left Ventricular Systolic Dysfunction but an angiogram and MRI didn’t identify a cause.

I'm new here
Hello everyone, new on here and good to be in the company of folk with the same conditions, I’ve already read some very interesting stuff. I'm a 55 year old male & my first symptom was a cold finger in the summer 2015 followed by skin issues, I was feeling pretty ill by the time I was diagnosed in December

Lo Salt and equivalents
Hi, If taking Amlodipine and Candesartan to control high blood pressure, is it OK to take "Lo Salt" (the container says 66% less sodium than regular table, sea and rock salts) or the other low salt equivalents available on the market? I asked the GP but he never heard of it! When I explained what it

High blood pressure
Hello :-) I was diagnosed with AF 6 weeks ago and struggled over the last few weeks with side effects from the medication Bisproplol 5 mg and Rivaroxaban 20 mg. These have started to settle although I'm feeling very tired. I've taken Ramipril for high BP for many years and take the maximum dose of 10mg
