Having had a heart attack six years ago and stents fitted I am on a cocktail of daily meds but over the last year or so I have been suffering from increased chest pain, dizzy spells, feeling sick, clamy skin, drop in bp and this has culminated in fainting spells....when I come round my arms and legs are rigid, speech is slurred and I am left with a dull headache......a bit like a hangover. I have seen the gp who has lowered my ramipril dose and referred me to the rapid chest pain clinic. In the meantime I wondering if it is worth requesting a sick note as I work in a very stressful, fast paced environment and am on my feet all day. My clinic appointment is in two weeks time. Advice would be really appreciated.

Increased fainting spells
Dear Margrat69
Well what a first post ! so much going on there and how stressful must it all be?
You know your own body, but just with the symptoms you have given us I would get myself down to A&E or at the very lest phone 111, NOW.
I cannot believe that after presenting those symptoms to a Dr that their only suggestion was to lower your ramipril intake !
Please get this checked out NOW, do you have a GTN spray that you can use to help with the pain and tight chest?
I am not medically trained but every bell is ringing about you and the way you are feeling.
You need more than a sick note if you think that the stressful job you are in is contributing to your symptoms .
Are you being treated for anxiety ? is this purely a physical heart matter? or both ? either way it has to be addressed, NOW PLEASE
Take care and please keep us informed.
