That worked quickly

After my HA and angioplasty 18 months ago I was prescribed Ramipril 2.5 mg twice a day.I had a review at our surgery some 7 weeks ago, I mentioned to our GP that I occasionally felt dizzy for a second if I got out of a chair very quickly, as my BP was consistently coming out at 105/63 (regularly measured at home) our GP recommended reducing the Ramipril to one a day, with the proviso that if my BP increased I had to speak to him.

My BP slowly increased to 130/80.....I spoke to our GP on Friday who told me to go back onto 2 Ramipril a day immediately.

I've checked my BP twice today and already it's back down to 96/62......I'm pleased and very surprised that the Ramipril has acted so quickly.

When I was on ramipril, it was once a day, even when the dose was increased. If you are on other meds, they will have an effect. I did not know that ramipril affected BP.

Ramipril is an ace-inhibitor and is prescribed to reduce high blood pressure. I was prescribed it ten years ago and it keeps my BP stable.

Wow that is quick and a marked effect. Perhaps they need to find you a dose between these two points though, so your blood pressure is more 120/80
