horrendous muscle aches on Ramipril and Bisoprolol
hi was wondering if you could help me. I was referred to the rapid chest pain clinic as I had an episode witch I thought was just a bad case of acid reflux, a little chest pain but went quickly and a pain in my arm. I had my appointment a couple of weeks ago and my ecg was abnormal. The consultant said

Anxiety playing tricks?
Morning everyone - not having the best time as a cardiology outpatient. I was referred very swiftly after high BP readings by my GP and have been seen infrequently by cardiology and associated services. I have never met any cardiologist involved in my care apart from the one who did my echocardiogram

sorry.. AF again..but don’t look away please !
Atrial fibrillation ? Sorry it has been discussed frequently but I am new ! I was diagnosed with heart failure (no symptoms)about four years ago when my EF dropped to 38% after being on chemo and Herceptin for breast cancer. I saw the Cardiologist a second time a few months later and nothing had changed

Can medication be reduced after a certain time with no problems?
In 2012 I had a heart attack which resulted in the insertion of a stent, fortunately prompt treatment meant there was no major damage to my heart, although I started getting AF attacks in 2016. In 2017 I started taking 100mg of Flecainide and this was successful in stopping my AF attacks. In 2020 I

PERSISTENT COUGH
Hello Everyone.. I am new here and would appreciate your comments. I stopped smoking in May 2004. Since early 2005, I developed the most irritating cough which comes & goes very often. I am under a Consultant and he wants to send me to the "cough hospital" as, like my GP, he is totally baffled. I

Long recovery after gardening
Hi, I sit here with heart still thumping and light headed after spending an hour in the garden raking up leaves and mowing the lawn. Really not full on exercise. I am taking amlodipine for high blood pressure and atorvastatin for high cholesterol. I am trying to get my GP to book me into cardio for

high blood pressure…
Hi there everyone, I have recently started monitoring my BP again as I finally managed to get a large cuff. I have tested often in the past 1-2 weeks and have been consistently getting readings like 140/106 Or 138/109. Google says that might be quite serious, however, I would prefer avoid invasive

Malignant Hypertension episode
Hi I’ve had PAF for around 6 years, last episode a couple of years ago. I take Eliquis twice daily, with no ill effects and bisoprolol 2.5mg daily. A week ago I had my Pfizer booster jab. This was my 4th dose and since I had mild side effects (erratic heart rate, blood pressure raised) for a week on

Ramipril
Hi I've just started on Ramipril 5mg for high blood pressure and possible angina. I'm having terrible problems sleeping. Does anyone know if this wears off. As otherwise I'm happy with it as it has brought my BP down from 150/98 to 106/82 in a couple of days. Forgot to say I have dry cough

Mitral valve prolapse, regurgitation, annular disjunction & fibrosis
Hi, I was diagnosed with mitral valve prolapse 3years ago after being admitted to hospital with an arythmia and heart failure (dilated cardiomyopathy) with an EF of 30%. With medication, my EF improved to normal (58%).A subsequent MRI showed a small scar in the inferior lateral wall. At the time, they

amlodipine and swelling
I’m at stage 5 ckd and I recently started amlodipine 10mg and my feet and ankle swell. My question is what does someone else at stage 5 take for blood pressure. I’ll be going to my nephrologist soon and i’m going to ask him what else I can take for blood pressure. Just wanted to know some other names

Creatinine climbing, change in bp meds
My husband had his kidney transplant 14 years ago. His creatinine started climbing in sept and is now 4.66. He has swelling in his legs and feet He was taken off of Losartin and placed on hydralazine. He also takes amlodipine and atenolol. He also takes simvistatin. Do any of you have any problems

New to amlodipine
Similar experience, I was prescribed amlodipine in addition to losartan as my bp was 'up'.Tbh felt more than a bit unsteady for quite a while on it, but persevered and after a few weeks 'felt' normal again, with bp reducing to 130/75. That was a few months ago, everything fine since.

update after fourth ablation
Appointment with EP yesterday gave the thumbs up to cut out the flecainide. Not needed as have not had any blips since a quick reset (cardioversion) in April after the fourth ablation in March. Besides, the flecainide is causing wide qrs so it’s becoming more problematic than helping. Anyone had problems

amlodipine and Candesartan
been taking Candesartan 10mg for years which controlled my BP well with little side effects. Recently a BP check was too high so it was increased to 16 then 24 but I had horrible side effects so reduced back to 16. BP not lowered at all in fact went higher and now been prescribed Amlodipine to take along
