Hi everyone, I desperately need the advice of people who can understand my situation. I am afraid for the first time since I became ill in 1990 that I am at my wits end and simply do not know what to do. I had a cavernous haemangioma removed from my nasal cavity in February. I suffered a haemorrhage

Total Hip Replacement Decision
Hello Friends, I have ET-MPL 515L, and this is year 10 with the disease, and I am doing well thanks to Pegasys. I have been informed, due to arthritis, I need a total hip replacement. Those of us with MPN's are at increased risk of vertebrae and hip fractures, YIKES! In discussions with my Oncologist

Speech production technology
Has anyone tried speech production technology, such as Stephen Hawking used, for PSP patients? Was it successful or not? Our speech therapist is asking us to consider it since we cannot understand my husband any more. Thanks

Questions regarding an oestrogen cream (Ovestin) and its effect specifically on hypothyroidism but also in general
This morning I visited my GP for an abdominal examination because of raised liver enzymes. As our conversation progressed and I mentioned other niggles she offered a blood test there and then for rheumatoid arthritis, organised a pelvic ultrasound for tomorrow (I know, amazing!), a stool sample and a

NDT vs T4 T3 combination therapy
Hello everyone. Please share your experience NDT vs combination therapy. Currently I am on combo but still have symptoms (I have no thyroid). I am doing better on combo than on T4 only. I want to try NDT and see if it will make me feel better. Since both of them mainly contain T4 T3 may I expect significant

Compressions
HelloI am 9 weeks post TKR in right knee and I think I might have a problem with my Compressions. I have lower leg Lymphoedema and my left leg was always worst for swelling. Since my knee surgery, my right leg is swelling more. Obviously, this would be partly due to the surgery but when I wear my compression

Is there a dr at Ninewells who deals with APS?
In Dec 2020 I had what was thought to be a TIA. I mentioned to the stroke nurse that I had tested positive before for lupus anticoagulant and my rheumatologist at the time put me on aspirin. I was told to stop HRT in order to do this. It wasnāt checked again. The stroke nurse prescribed Clopidogrel

CRISPR 13 (what? you thought I abandoned CRISPR?): very promising proof of concept - Targeting HOXB13 in mPCa by CRISPR/Cas13d- nanoparticle
And people thought it was undruggable....they have already filed for a patent š² Researchers developed nanoparticles that can deliver a special type of gene therapy directly to cancer cells in the liver. This system uses a CRISPR technology, not to edit DNA, but to block the RNA of the HOXB13 protein

Am I Hypothyroid?
Hi, can anyone give me any feedback on the blood results I have received please? I am nearly 5 years into Surgical Menopause, Ovaries removed. More than likely I have Oestrogen Dominance which could be suppressing thyroid function as my Prolactin is currently very high (975miu/l) and soon to be investigated

Sub optimal cortisol results, below range DHEA and phone appointment with GP this morning
Good morning, I posted yesterday about Regenerus test results (link below) and seveneleven kindly responded. Iāve managed to secure a GP phone appointment this morning because Iām wracked with pain and inflammation and would like to arrange further tests for this (possible rheumatoid arthritis).

TKR waiting list
I have had an appointment today at orthopaedic and trauma where they x-rayed both my knees and Iāve finally been recommended for TKR in my right knee. I am so pleased and relieved. The doctor doing it has full 5 star reviews and has explained procedures before, during and after surgery, he has told me
