I have had an appointment today at orthopaedic and trauma where they x-rayed both my knees and I’ve finally been recommended for TKR in my right knee. I am so pleased and relieved. The doctor doing it has full 5 star reviews and has explained procedures before, during and after surgery, he has told me the current waiting list is 9-12 months but they may start weekend surgery soon and he will put me forward for a candidate for that or any cancellations so it could be done sooner.
Do any of you guys have any tips for me pre surgery just to keep me moving, I currently have terrible pain and swelling but try to hobble around on my stick.

I was an orthopaedic ward sister for many years. My one piece of advice, is to do quadricep exercises to build up the strength, prior to surgery. It will make the recovery much easier. If your muscles are weak, it will make recovery harder.
