Had a total right knee replacement Tuesday. But unfortunately i have bursitis of that hip ( which is usually not troubling) but the operation has upset it big time do finding it difficult to sleep and do exercises. Anyone got any ideas how to manage. I am obviously using knee and taking the strong painkillers prescribed.

Total knee replacement
Other than contacting GP/Orthopaedic team and asking for a steroid injection for bursitis,, afraid not..
I am just presuming as I am only just post op. a steroid injection is out of the question as it raises the risk of infection. Had to Get round refreshed Thursday as it bled
They can inject the joint “around” any existing open wounds/healing surgical cuts and give you relief…it was my experience that to ease the pain of a bursitis flare it’s about the only option. Call the doc get in to get your infection…the exercises are a must for the knee and must be fully done…(as opposed to a hip or ankle) the knee will determine if you walk “normally” again or continue to mimic a penguin…nuk…nuk
LOL!
The hip seems to have settled down now. Think it must have been post op pain. 5 1/2 weeks since op much more mobile, managed to walk up to local shops this morning. Still quite painful taking co-codamol but gradually cutting amount down. Doing exercises 3 times a day. Need other knee doing but think it will be some time before I even think about thst.
