Update on PEG feed problem
Hi everyone!Happy to report my husband has had his PEG feed repaired this afternoon. Bless him, he was 8 days without food, although IV fluids were given, he actually seems none the worse for that. After an anxious weekend, I was told Monday that he would be on the list for Endoscopy. They'd had a

gastritis diagnosis
Recently had an Endoscopy after 3 years of feeling sick! Revealed inflammation of the stomach lining. I did have h-pylori which was discovered last year and then after 3 rounds of antibiotics was clear (about 6 months ago). They took biopsies at the Endoscopy to find out if it’s bacteria causing it.

Hi all first post ,I'm yet to be diagnosed with ibs d but I firmly believe I have it as all my symptoms are classic my GP wants to send me for an endoscopy which I'm not happy with as they require me to basically fast for 3 days and flush out everything for 24 hours before and I'm trying so hard to keep

why am I spitting blood?
I am spitting up blood, not coughing it up or vomiting. It’s everyday. It’s mixed in with saliva so I don’t know where it’s coming from. It’s a few teaspoons each time at most sometimes more than once a day. After about 5 spits it’s gone or if I rinse my mouth out. Went to primary doc and dentist and

Hi everyone, my husbands been in hospital the last 2 weeks, with a very bad chest infection. Scan revealed the PEG (jejunal) had lost the inner extension, so feed was entering wrong area, causing aspiration.. feed was stopped, more antibiotics and finally chest is clearing!....great.By Monday he will

I’m so confused
Back in march 2022 I had severe abdominal pain that landed me in the ER twice. I’ve have ct scans and lots of blood work done. The abdominal pain was in combination with being unable to go to the bathroom days at a time, blood mixed IN WITH the stool and very constipated. Nothing was found on the CT

hi there, I am a 25 year old male - been pretty active my whole life. as of late my stools have been quite soft and thin (see picture above) I will say my diet has been absolutely terrible and some days I don’t get enough fiber for sure. But the other day I had a slight bit of red blood when I wiped

Cirrhosis and Fibrosis
Hey All, I’m 39 years old. Significant drinking history. Binge drinking (15+units) for approx 20 years at least one and sometimes 2 nights of a weekend. My drinking escalated in 2012 and I would have 6 units nightly with the binging. I am reasonably fit and have maintained exercise throughout last 10

is it common for coeliacs to have crohns or colitis as well?
hi Coeliac disease runs strongly in my family, my Nan, mom and brother all have it - I had been tested regularly for it over the last 30 years but had severe food poisoning in November 2018 which triggered coeliac disease and a lactose intolerance. Tests always came back negative but never had any

Any idea what might be going on? Do I need more T4 or should T3 be added?
My journey since diagnosis is progressing reasonably well. Although biopsy of nodules was negative it is being repeated next month in conjunction with nasal endoscopy which I assume is routine. In the meantime I have had two dose increases since starting on T4 25mcg on 23/12/22; 50mcg on 10/2 and

Cirrhosis?
Hi again just wanted some clarification in regards to Oesophageal varices. I was diagnosed with NASH in late 2019 after an endoscopy and ultrasound. I have had a Fibroscan each year and the last one last year was F1. In April I had another Endoscopy because my iron was low and they suspected I had bleeding

#totallyconfused - flying with varices but no endoscopy planned for 12 months time
My partner has been through so many tests since end of March ‘23. He has been diagnosed with Cirrhosis Child-Pugh scoring A. Consultant now deciding on treatment for hepatitis strain which caused this. It’s not alcohol or fatty liver cause and he is at lower end BMI for his height and is abstinent

undigested food
hello, I was admitted into hospital due to my severe weight loss caused by acute IBS symptoms. I was tested for everything including colonoscopy and endoscopy. Nothing was detected from the procedure or the biopsy. But I continue to have problems digesting food. I have been eating mainly blended

New GP, new hope!
So old surgery were downright neglectful. New surgery - referring to heptology, rheumatology, counselling and physio! Redoing stool samples, and bloods, probable endoscopy. But, I do feel I have been listened to - finally!
