Why Do I pain in my left ribs?

I would like to thank the BHF Nurse that actually took the bother to call me after I emailed for help and advice, she was very empathetic and gave me good advice about keeping a record of my blood pressure’s and taking it in the morning when I get up after I’ve pottered about but before any medication and at supper time to get a realistic view of what my pressures are,

I have been reading a few post and must say I now have some hope , I received a triple heart bypass in 2011, I didn’t have any signs or pain but I was on Tramadol and paracetamol for joint pain at the time.

I don’t Smoke or Drink and cook most of my meals from scratch but I’m still about 206 lbs in weight

After joining here last week and posting I ended up being taken by ambulance to A&E as there were inverted T Waves in my ECG they said I was ischemic , whatever that means - I’ve never googled my condition

Anyway they did the blood tests for heart attack signs and I also had a test for pulmonary embolism in lungs which thankfully was negative

The doctors said that because of my heart condition it could be heart related but nothing serious enough to warrant further investigation in A&E and he would suggest in his letter to my GP about a heart scan,

That was on Saturday and because of the Easter bank holidays I could get GP appointment, I called on Tuesday and was given an appointment and thankfully I saw the same GP as I did on Friday

I was told to record my blood pressure so I took results to him most were around 196/100 , 214/. 103 was highest I think

I asked if he’d received the letter from A&E and he had but no recommendations for any cardiologist investigating, this didn’t shock me as I’ve never seen a cardiologist since my bypass for any yearly check up which I was told I would

Only ever get 5 minutes appointment with nurse and blood tests but haven’t even had that since covid

the Doctor looked at my notes for my history and informed me that I had been referred back to cardiologist by my psychologist in January this year, a reply was sent to my GP but no follow up, again I wasn’t surprised, he called the cardiologist secretary from his surgery in front of me on loud speaker to check for appointment only to be told I had never been seen by them so I was a new patient and would have a waiting time of 52 weeks “sounds better than a year eh” and I would might be seen quicker if he requested it .

I explained that this happened when I first had heart problems after being taken to and sent home from hospital 5 times in 3 weeks and being told I’d wait 6 months just to have an angiogram, I went private through insurance I had through my husband work ,

When I went for my angiogram my Consultant was a Dr Flappin the Queens cardiologist in Scotland so it gave me confidence as I had none in my doctors.

Before the procedure he explained that after receiving my doctors letter I was not to worry as he expected to give me a clean bill of health and explained what they could do whilst doing the procedure, as nothing was done I felt relieved but that was short lived , I can see to this day he kind of crouched down in front of me as I was sitting on side of bed and told me I had triple vesil disease as soon as I heart triple I knew it meant a triple bypass

My daughter was working in another GP surgery at the time and had looked at the notes and letters while I was in theatre and to her disgust my GP had said I was a very anxious person and was sure there would be nothing to find so while writing this I’ve only just realised that the doctors letter in my original referral was probably the reason it was not treated seriously and was probably why I was given a six month wait originally

Sorry for ranting on

back to doctors appointment yesterday I was given Oramorph Liquid to take as required for Rib Pain, a GTN spray as it took the pain away and reduced my blood pressure in ambulance

Still to take my oxypro and paracetamol and after me explaining that I felt exactly the same as I had before my bypas he said he would refer agin give my blood pressure reading at home

When leaving he explained that the test can only show if something has happened and not wanting to worry me but given my symptoms, age and history if I have any chest pains be sick etc to go to hospital as emergency and because he was referring me it wouldn’t meant they would see me sooner

I’m stressing today and I know I am as on hood Friday I received a positive bowel test and getting a call today from an endoscopy nurse to talk through that procedure, probably get told today when that will be

If your read this I thank you it calmed me down a bit tiring it as I’ve no one to talk to really my husband just goes quit when I’m not well

Thanks
