Weight loss has stopped
I’m a little confused, I started LCHF nearly 3 weeks ago ( I’m using recipes from the fast 800 recipe book) and have nearly lost a stone. This week my weight has stayed the same and I have lost nothing. I’ve been measuring my ketones and they are fine. Help? Any ideas? I’m still classed as overweight

Would you dare admit to “going freestyle”??
I know there is a valiant effort made by everyone here to support each person’s right to make their own medical decisions. I really like that. I also notice that most people here advocate following a medical doctor’s advice, which is almost always taking DMTs (Disease Modifying Therapies aka pharmaceuticals

Gallbladder issues post-partum
Since I gave birth to my daughter 19 months ago I have been experiencing intense pain in my right shoulder and all the way round to the top of my stomach. I was induced and on a drip which made me have back to back contractions for 15 hours and the pain was so similar to this but I just put it down

Blood test - GGT and CRP levels
My GP sent me for a blood test and it has come back with GGT 69 and CRP 12, they are sending me for a liver ultrasound scan. They're not expecting anything serious but when I look online (not that I should of course) it covers allsorts including liver disease and blocked bile ducts. Apparently my last

Amlodipine question
Does anyone know if amlodipine can be taken on an ad hoc need-to basis as opposed to a once-daily therapy? My mom's BP is largely stable on a very low sodium diet, and only spikes if we go off track. Thank you.

Does being Vegan eliminate Endo pain?
Anyone heard of Dr. Neal Barnard, Author of Your Body in Balance: The New Science of Food, Hormones, and Health?? He seems to claim going Vegan along with a low fat diet can eliminate Endometriosis. Has anyone tried this? Or have you had good results by becoming vegetarian as a start?

Diet for PMR
Used to be on low carb and high meat diet. Now with PMR trying plant based diet which is often high in Carbs. Any thoughts? Been on 15mg for 4 weeks and struggling to reduce it to 12.5 mg. Was ok for a few weeks now shoulder pains have returned.is it diet related or just PMR

URSO and fluctuating results
Hi... my wife was diagnosed with PBC last year and started on URSO 9 months ago. Her first results were excellent, but her recent blood test showed a small elevation in her ALK/ALT. IS it normal for your readings to fluctuate on URSO? Are there foods or medications that interact with URSO that we should

Gallstones and Fatty Liver, GP doesn't seem to care.
I have recently been diagnosed with large gallstones and a fatty liver (via ultrasound) however I am finding ti difficult to get any reasonable assurances or even answers from my GP. The consultant who took the ultrasound stated that my GP would order blood tests etc, I've had nothing and it's not for

Test results and more questions than answers!
Hi I am hoping one of you more experienced people can help me move forward with my medication. I am currently on 75mcg Levo and 30mcg T3. I am greatly improved especially mentally - much calmer and no anxiety or feelings of panic. My weight has stopped piling on may even be reducing a wee bit - I no

Gallstones
I am just 31 years old and diagnosed with gallstones. My report says there are more than 12 gallstones and the largest one is 10mm. I get severe episodes of pain in the upper right quadrant under my ribs. Also the report says my liver is mildly fatty. Now having fibroscan in March. Extremely worried

Medichecks results - help in interpreting these please? Also do other people share these with their GPs and if so how does that go down??
Hello - after my disappointing dose increase of Levo of 25mg *every other day* following my last NHS blood test (3.79 - in range) but still having problems (mainly walking pain and need for long sleeps that I really don't have time for) I have now had my Medichecks results. Not too bad but think I definitely

Does dehydration cause kidney disease or does kidney disease cause dehydration?
Hi, I have been having problems now for a couple of years , had tons of tests done (including diabetes, thyroid and Sjogren's - all negative), latterly bloods showing my kidney function is declining . I have a constantly dry mouth (feels burnt and taste is tainted), digestive problems, and itchy dry

AKI ... Contrast Induced
Good morning! Can anyone tell me how long an AKI lasts and whether, after a certain length of time, it becomes Chronic Kidney Disease!? I had a heart attack 2 months ago and required Angiography & stenting. A week or so later, it was found that I had suffered an AKI due to the contrast dye used during

Alternatives for sweets
I have long been a low carb dieter, and the fats I'd eatch are the healthy fats (avocados/nuts, etc) as well as the protein I'd eat are lean meats, eggs and protein shakes. I also cut down my carbs to mostly veggies and for a snack, popcorn, healthy popped/low salt/no butter. My one guilty pleasure is
