Weight loss has stopped

I’m a little confused, I started LCHF nearly 3 weeks ago ( I’m using recipes from the fast 800 recipe book) and have nearly lost a stone. This week my weight has stayed the same and I have lost nothing. I’ve been measuring my ketones and they are fine. Help? Any ideas? I’m still classed as overweight so would like to lose more.

Hi there @Grey31, The one on the right is my weight loss journey. I think you are experiencing a reset for your body weight. You have lost your weight relatively quickly and our bodies have a weight that it is used to and comfortable with....so it’s trying to get back to its former weight and your diet is challenging this ......on looking as to why we plateau there are lots of theories, but to reset your bodies weight the advice is don’t give up on your eating plan, exercise more, drink more water, eat more roughage, and keep a food diary. Hope that helps. Btw.....I have been using this website for nearly a year and have lost 13kg......but during that time I have had more than a couple of plateaus, but this is the first time in my life I have been able to loose weight and not give up. I think it’s because I’ve done it slowly and it works for me. Good luck for your weight loss journey.

This recently published video from Dr Fung talks about how you might be able to work through your weight loss plateau.

A stone in three weeks is real progress - well done! If you now stay the same for 3 (or more!) weeks it will still be a stone in 6 weeks, which is plenty. Relax, and expect things to fluctuate. Hopefully you will start to feel healthier and better even before you get near your target weight. Good luck!

Yeah.

A week's "stall" is nothing. It's not a stall.

But an elongated stall is common at this point in a low carb diet. I am not convinced there is a "healing phase", but I have seen this graph shared a lot by keto *dieters*, that I believe that even if the healing phase it not real, the stall is common.

So sit tight for another couple of weeks and see what happens.

During my weight loss journey, I had a couple of stalls of several months. I did have to fast to get through them, but I did get through them and I am out the other side and been maintaining for 8 months.

Patience, Grasshopper!
