Since I gave birth to my daughter 19 months ago I have been experiencing intense pain in my right shoulder and all the way round to the top of my stomach. I was induced and on a drip which made me have back to back contractions for 15 hours and the pain was so similar to this but I just put it down to the birth so put of speaking to a doctor for a long time and just relied on painkillers and hot water bottles. After months of enduring agony in the middle of the night to the point I can't walk I've spoken with my gp, it took a few times before they eventually sent me for an ultrasound and suspected gallstones.
After my first ultrasound i haven't received any feedback but was sent for another and told to eat fat free for 48 hours before. I didn't eat on the morning of the 2nd scan and eat fat free beforehand but they said my gallbladder was still contracted and was questioning me on whether I was sure I hadn't eat that morning. Has anyone experienced this...it almost felt like they thought I was lying ? I'm hoping that I get a call to discuss rather than being sent for a third scan.

I know it’s been a while since you posted, but I just wanted to ask if you have had any luck in finding out what the issue was post partum?
I had my daughter 13 Months ago and ever since having her I have experienced pain on my right side underneath my ribs radiating up to my shoulder blade. I had an ultrasound and they found slight fatty liver, but said this would not cause pain. I’m waiting on CT scan results as have been having issues with my bowels too and this all happened after giving birth to my baby.
I hope all is well with you and that you’ve managed to get some resolution.
Yes the 2nd ultrasound did show gallstones. I was referred to a surgeon and had my gallbladder removed in April and not had any issues since. I have heard of people where the stones haven't shown on ultrasounds but hopefully the CT scan can give you some answers.
Thanks so much for coming back to me, I really appreciate it. I’m so glad you got to the bottom of it and that you are doing well! Fingers crossed I get some answers soon.
