Not yet diagnosed....AN
Hi, I'm 37 and woke up 3 weeks ago with complete hearing loss in 1 ear, severe tinnitus and vertigo. I've been in the slow process of having hearing tests at ENT which show almost complete deafness 😔 The vertigo seems to have subsided which I am thankful for but am just hoping it's not an AN so I

I've made it halfway! No symptoms 🙈😂🙈😂 any reassurance?
Hi everyone! So I've made it to 7dp5dt and this 2ww has been totally different to the previous two. Both mentally and physically. Mentally and emotionally im doing really well. Anxiety super low and I haven't went down too many rabbit holes! I think my acupuncture and my previous experiences have calmed

New to PMR and hopefully its on its way out!
I started suffering bad neck stiffness and then back and eventually hip stiffness about 6 weeks ago (early March 2023). I'm 56 and a very keen cyclist (normally 8-12 hours of cycling a week), and so am not used to feeling like an invalid! I find cycling OK, although my legs feel very heavy, but walking

Vertigo and PD?
I found a 2021 study with this: Conclusion: Prodromal otological symptoms might be associated with a reduced risk of motor progression in PD. Anyone know how often vertigo is a sign of PD? Last few days I've had small bouts of vertigo. Without warning the room begins to swim. Or rather it rotates

Introduction and Preface to Comments
Hi, All. My first post. For several months, I've been reading your comments and empathizing with those who have suffered with this condition. To the extent that there is anything that may be unique to my circumstance, it may be the volume of medical experts with whom I have consulted and by whom

Effect of thyroid dysfunction on N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide levels: A systematic review and meta-analysis
Papers regarding the impact of inappropriate thyroid hormone levels keep coming out. It would be a miracle if endocrinologists showed any evidence of having read them. And incorporated the lessons into their practices. [i]

Does acupuncture work?
Has anyone tried acupuncture for the relief of PMR pains, particularly in shoulders, aromas, neck , and if so did it work?

Tinnitus dismissed by GP
This is the second doctor in my practice I have seen.. I was told to contact Tinnitus UK as they might be able to offer advice. First doctor suggested ear drops and when I returned they gave me a prescription for more ear drops . When I explained the symptoms of Tinnitus I was told not to call it Tinnitus

low AMH 0.5 and 10 follicles
hello Hope you’re all well. I am new here - I wondered if anyone has had a similar experience to me. I went for a fertility MOT about a month ago as I just wanted to gain a better understanding of where I’m at as I want to freeze my eggs. I was told that my AMH is low (0.5 pmol/ l) and I have

Jaw pain
I have been having pain in my jaw and wondered if this could be another symptom of my RA I am due to have an ultrasound on the muscles but I also had a bad infection after toothe extraction and was taken off my meds as they are worried in case I get another infection as I ended up with sepsis.

Does acupuncture work for floaters?
To follow on from my previous post on floaters, has anyone had any experience of the use of acupuncture to treat these? I’m seeing an acupuncturist for a back related condition (which is helping, by the way!) and he’s of the view that acupuncture can also help with floaters. I haven’t fully started

Shaking when I stretch…
I’m curious if others with PA have ever experienced this symptom: when I wake up in the morning and stretch, my muscles seem to shake for a few moments, especially in my hands. It also happens to a lesser degree when I have a deep yawn. Subsequent to my PA diagnosis, I was diagnosed with hyperreflexia

Jaw Pain: UPDATE
So, I took everyone's advice and saw my doctor about the pain I have in my jaw. The good news is that it isn't GCA. It's TMD (temporomandibular joint disorder). I have started on gabapentin so hopefully, I will get better soon.

Hearing loss and first hearing aid in 2018 following an ear infection and a perforated ear drum in 2014. New AN diagnosis
Had the contract MRI this week now waiting to hear back . First MRI in Nov22 said it was 10mm not sure what the contract MRI will show ? or what to expect next . I have had tinnitus for years and started to lose my hearing in one ear about 10 months ago, thought it was age but now know its AN. Not sure
