I had acupuncture a few years ago as part of physio treatment.

It gave pain relief and I did sleep well afterwards.

I’ve had acupuncture and it didn’t help at all. Waste of money in my opinion.

Yes it worked well for my general health but no improvement to balance.

Is acupuncture only used for pain or can it be used for other ataxia symptoms?

Suggest you watch the video posted by Wobblybee. Dr Perlman answers that question.

I have acupuncture purely for ataxia symptoms. I believe it does improve or delay symptoms but it is important to do research and find the best you can, Chinese remedy shops on the high street won’t be good for ataxia! It has to be someone who does scalp acupuncture as this is where the points are for ataxia, scalp acupuncture is hard to find as many acupuncturists don’t offer this service. I’ve had it five years now and I have a rapidly progressing autoimmune ataxia, the best lady I had was Roisin Golding in London but I’m not sure she’s practicing now as she was slowing down for retirement. I have a home visit now as I’m housebound.

I had a few sessions of acupuncture but found it made no difference. A good point about scalp acupuncture being more targeted to where the problem lies. Nigel

Helped me with Plantar Fascitis twice after 8 sessions each time. Tremendous but not immediate
