Hi again. I typed this out once and it disappeared when I tried to add a tag, and so here goes again. The links below are a Lancet article summary, from 17 July (2nd link), and an article on 23 July by a science journalist about the article (1st link). The articles are self-explanatory. This was a

Cortisone wore off after 2 weeks?
I have inflammatory arthritis that my Rheumatologist says will eventually become RA. It's currently attacking my left knee, has been for months. I've been in PT since May and had a lot of improvement. I then had a cortisone injection at the beginning of July. The next 2 weeks were great. Then the pain

Chickenpox!
On my way to visit my grandchildren and have just been told they possibly have chickenpox! Now I had chickenpox as a child but wondered is it safe to be in contact with them whilst I’m on steroids. I have googled it but still unclear. Due to arrive with them tomorrow afternoon.

Gluten Sensitivity in a rheumatoid arthritis population study - University of Edinburgh student online survey
NRAS has been approached by a student at the University of Edinburgh who is for her final disertation researching if gluten has any impact on RA pain. Unfortunately the survey has only been shared with NRAS after it had received ethics approval so we have not been able to input into the questions. There

New results and an update - Vit D, early Lyme Disease and what looks like vitiligo
Doc called this morning to check in (looks like throwing my toys out of the pram made a big difference!). Results came back and she said I'm severely Vit D deficient (result 22, didn't get the range but "severe" is good enough for me) and tested positive for "early" Lyme Disease. The D3 I bought is

Again good CA125 result!
Hi again. Have just had my 6 monthly CA125 check last week, and so am delighted with that. If you don't know me, have a look at my story. It appears that ibuprofen works as an anti-cancer medication for me. NSAIDs like ibuprofen, and also aspirin, have been proven to have a general anti-cancer

Parkinson's and Lyme Disease
Hello. I am very new to the site. First post ever! I would like to know if anyone here has heard of the correlation between Parkinson's symptoms and Lyme Disease? Were you ever tested and diagnosed with LD? And if so, after taking antibiotics, did your Parkinson's get any better?

Do I have lyme Disease yes or not?
Hi good people. It's been said that if you have any of these bands in your labs then you have LYME D: 23 31 34 39 83/93; yet my labs didn't: 41KD 41KD; 41KD 58KD. MY labs video: https://youtu.be/yz7yDPQMs9w and even my infection specialist agreed on that; yet she refused to treat me for a possible

Chemo #4 update
Had my 4th docetaxel, PSA is down to 0.8, (500 at DX on March, 23 prior to treatment start). Here's a history, each taken on the chemo day: 5/1 5/23 6/15 7/6 4.34 1.94 1.13 0.80 I like the absolute number, but drop rate is slowing down. Still minimum chemo side-effects. The biggest one

Question about New Pain(s) with CPS
Hello, This is long and complicated, but I am hopeful for advice for next move. I'm experiencing a new pain; a neck/throat pain. It is a sharp cutting pain and sometimes excruciating. The x-ray came back as degenerative C3, C4, and C5. My doctor has offered no solution and referred me to pain management

Anyone experience increased allergic reaction to bug bites since having VM?
I had VM last May and It has taken best part of a year to feel back to my usual self. I moved to a hot climate last October and since then have had 5 episodes of cellulitis from bug bites. Could just be bad luck that I’m so allergic but wondering if the impact on my immune system from the VM could
